turns out ionic equilibrium is much more daunting then ever. knowledge of which seem to have retreated back into whatever orifices it came from.

it's gonna be a long night.
mymy.

1/7 = 0.142857
2/7 = 0.285714
3/7 = 0.428571

COOL hahhah.
i know people would be like : WHY THE HELL ARE YOU BLOGGING WHEN YOU'RE 2 WEEKS AWAY FROM YOUR DARN FREAKING PRELIMS!!?!?!

baybeats was a blast. and i am currently a fan of anberlin as of yesterday. hahah good stuff. and. singapore's metal music, not badnot bad. and to the moshers, LOL

no photos, yet.. cause C hasnt uploaded them zz.

right anyway, woke up at a productive 930. worked out till 10. (yes the desire for breakfast is a good motivation to work out) before settling down to do work.

made out my schedule for the 2 wks. since i know from past experience setting specific chapters and areas to complete will not work since i deviate ever so often, split the subjects up to chunks and the days up into different subjects so basically i can do whatever i like from that subj that is supposedly allocated today.

i.e. i split chem into

organic, inorganic, protein and physical, equilibrium and energetics

yea.

completing all the revision of content in the first week and the applications on the 2nd. well cept for maths which is basically just chionging all the way... like seriously. maths is like the mega feared subject for me right now...

right. it's chem in the morning, maths in the afternoon and PnP at night for today :) done 3/4 of the chem stuff already so i'm pretty much on track (pats on back)

oh oh and.

Pokka just produced.

PREMIUM MILK COFFEE!! (cant find the picture online so yea..)

verdict: i think it's better than the milk tea.. so that's something okay! hahaha :D

and there. last day of tutorials and stuff. Alvls incoming. gahhh..

on a much sadder note, here's an incident S accounted to me today.

you know i was at tuition class and the tuition teacher was giving out practice papers (chem) for us to do, and then she said

" you all must do all this papers okay? if you all have any questions, you can feel free to ask me the next lesson. if you all can do this papers well, you guys will probably have no problems for you prelims.. well.. except maybe for one jc...

*clicks at something on her laptop and scrolls abit*

anyone from m.j?

*friend raises hand. like. furtively.

ah... S, don't be so sad if you cant pass okay? it's alright..."

when i heard that i was like O.O LOL

that saying, which makes passing/aceing the paper this time round all the more important so .. yep..

MUG AH!!!!!!!

NB: The Proposal is a SUPER NICE movie. period :)

Was digging through one of the dark recesses of my table and stumbled on some stuff from my not so distant past. quite a few of them really brought back fond memories... lets see.

1) 2 notebooks, a very very memorable birthday present during sec 4 year, doubt she still reads blogs but thanks for those books! really meant alot :D ( actually it's three, i'm currently in the process of finding the other one now haha) . accompanied me through my last year of sec sch, a form of 'organiser' in my life. as you know, i don't really like to plan my day to day stuff so it's usually random scribbles of the day and maybe an occasional 'things to do' list. ( my current favourite from of planning style ) you know. a list every week, a list of stuff for me to clear. IMO it makes more sense to me than some of the other forms of planning like really regimented and constraining. prefer otot target forms. right anyway, so was reading through some of my scribbles, including some random written conversation during a particularly boring egeog lesson. and then there's a freaky layout of my class during our sec 4 year (first half of the yr.. i think). seriously, it's like THE arrangement for classes :D

lets see..

i told you it was cool :D i know it's really kindergarten-ish and all but somehow we proposed it and the teacher liked it so there you go haha... only drew in my area.. obviously i'm the one in red :D and i think the people around was the usual gang :D minus gw i think.. haha so basically we crapped many a boring lesson away there.. and yes we were SUPER noisy. so basically i transformed after entering jc.. you'll never catch me dead seating right infront of the white board in sec sch. so there.

right anyway i think i digressed far enough.

2) was crapping with sm after school today about pae and how we each had a piece of paper with stuff written by our pae classmates. Found the piece of paper when i got home! totally brought back fantastic memories about pae. really great times. and my ex classmates who are no longer in mj.. wonder how the gv people are doing in their area's of interst in poly. haha kx and her piano teaching, ernest and his cwalking hahaha. btw, stumbled upon some of his vids on youtube, pretty neat so yea :) he goes by the name of winde there hahah

ah.. 2 years in mj. pretty soon it's gonna be over and all and tmr is supposedly a sort of last since there'd prolly not be much of formal lessons and stuff after that. i guess.

haiiii.

~

anyway, just got back from helping my mum with some singing she had to do as part of her diploma module on teaching.. i'm serious, she has to sing those chinese children songs... you know.. those little songs on like some cute little animal and the content usually goes like this..

little frog oh little frog
jumping up and down
and swimming
so tiny yet so strong
little frog oh little frog!

yea you get the idea.. haha and i realised i'm quite intune!!!! Yes i'm serious shuddup! hahaha

okay, enough with blogging. ciao :D)

oh oh.. meet shiongshiong! (wx's nomnom's inspired name...)
yes i know.. fine i'll shut up haha

yeah? :D
i'm sick and tired of those 'John Hopkins Latest Update' emails we receive which proclaim fervently the supposed natural methods of treating several diseases.

you have coke that erodes the teeth, sugar that feeds cancer cells, meat that rots in the intestines.

seriously, stop preying on the worries and fears of other people on and feed incessant information to them already. it's sickening.

so what if they have some truth to it. eat more veges. even i can tell you that. i went to look up on several other articles on the net. guess what the best diet for healthy living is. just follow the freaking food pyramid..

and it hurts more that my family is fervently believing in those stupid mails.

let it go already dammit.

i. am. seriously. amazed.
omg. i just realised reader's digest filed for bankruptcy. read it somewhere off someone's blog and checked it out online.

bankrupt. wth.

as much as i don't read it anymore, it's a darn good read for me through my latter primary school and secondary school days. one of my first 'mags'

ohwell.

conflicting thoughts abound.

holding back, yet hoping.

bah.

anyway, t3 wasnt as productive.. nevertheless clocked in a respectable 5hrs.

i know i previously mentioned how i don't do hours but seeing how our dear guru besar is all bout hours, just felt apt to make mention of that..

now, to double that..

edit// okay fine. end of day and i managed 7hours. shall squeeze in some grp 7 elements before i sleep

another week. passed

another week. awaits.

hope tmr will be productive. t3 is becoming a favourite place to study.

on a brighter note, i'm getting my van sice mallets soon and as quoted from lj 'it's kinda heavy, but the sound is damnnnn niceee.' weighty tone. ho yeah. :)
it was a typical gathering of the family.

the usual four at the mahjong table, with a few gathered to watch. a handful near the tv and a few eating dinner at the back of the 2 room flat.

yet it was different.

forced cheerfulness, smiles that extended no more past the lips, an occasional lapse, giving way to an unspeakable sorrow.

unspeakable.

to protect the unknowing. yet keeping the hurt within.

ever felt that constricting feel against your throat, or the sinking feeling at the pit of your stomach, and the world which you look upon through your eyes, that nothing could ever make it better.

of bitter sorrow, and melancholy. of hurt and pain.

yet we struggle, to remain strong, to stand by the very cause our tears flow from.

over the top

she was at a funeral.

it was a rainy morning. people were gathered under at the void deck. they seem to be getting ready to pay their last respects.

what are they doing under my block?

the scene was strangely familiar, yet she just couldnt figure out what it was.

the coffin was now being moved to the hearse. in careful, synchronised movements, the casket bearers lifted the coffin onto their shoulders and begun to shuffle towards the undertaker's van parked at the side of the block. she found herself moving in the direction of the coffin, as if there was something drawing her towards it, like she ought to be there, moving with the rest of the people, decked in shades of monotone.

a middle aged woman nearby broke into tears, alternating between chokes and wails. a group of women surrounded her as she fell into their arms, stricken in grief. foosteps away, an elderly male, a lone figure of solitude, walked on, wearing a stoic face. his emotions were long spent.

they looked so familiar, wait.

the old man, grand uncle? auntie lily?

her eyes scanned the crowd frantically, as she begun to recognise more and more familiar faces.

as her eyes brushed past the crowd, her gaze fell on the small picture in the inner wall of the van as the bearers tilted the coffin into the vehicle. A black and white picture of a young girl in a white dress, fair complexion, that had a cheerful disposition, that went to school everyday with the small blue bag of hers, that girl who griped constantly about her subjects, who sat slightly near the side in maths class, whom no one knew, occasionally cried herself to sleep many a night, her.

wait, this isnt happening, i'm here. she frantically burst out.

no one seem to hear, no one seem to see her.

wait, no, no, i'm here, i'm alive, i'm still here!

it all became a whirling mess as her vision slowly blurred, the sounds of the mourners slowly fading into oblivion as it grew dark around her...

~

she opened her eyes. it was pitch dark.

where am i?

a voice rang out from the distance, cutting through the stifling darkness like a dagger,

'welcome, darling.

welcome to hell'

i thought something felt wrong today. found myself wandering aimlessly around school, it just felt wrong.

i was right.

i never wanted so badly for myself to be wrong, but no.

Tuesday, August 18, 2009

i was contemplating the possibility of Iago from Othello being a psychic vampire of sorts and so went surfing for some information on these stuff and lo and behold..

PsiVamps.org

like seriously, o.O

well one can never be sure this isnt for real, time to check out some of them shielding techniques...

Tirade

Really, enough about youths being rude and impolite already. It's pretty interesting that adults themselves are guilty of this supposed 'youth' *insert* juvenile uncivilised behavior. So while you get articles time to time criticising youths of their oh so unruly behavior of not giving up seats and what nots or even to the common topic of market going aunties on a daily basis, let's look at the adults themselves.

Who blames them? No one. That's cause you cant just classify adults into one group. Youths. simple. But adults? nah. Imagine a newspaper columnist writing : Adults nowadays are increasingly uncivil. Any idea how stupid that looks. Its like someone walking around telling people he's dumb..
but they must have something whine about yea? so what better then to pick on the typical stereotypes of ignorant, apathetic youths of our generation. Oh don't let me get started on apathetic, guess who's more apathetic. Ask some random adult what the primary content, or mainly the 3 umbrella titles of our minister's speech during the rally and chances are, they don't know. Btw, gossiping or complaining abt politics at the occasional coffeehouse doesnt make one any less apathetic about politics so yea...

Right, i'd better stop whining/complaining about our beloved adults already but to end off, if that's what society's gonna turn us into, mindless beings, replete with all those repulsive flaws and, refusing to acknowledge them, instead, criticising the very generation that they themselves brought up, i'd rather stay on as one of the ignorant youths thankyou.

oh i know i promised to shut my mouth on this topic already, but it's interesting, do you know more youths actually return their plates or clean up after their meals in fastfood outlets than the adults? Social behavior eh?

Blame the man onboard the bus purposely pretending not to hear me when i asked to be allowed to move in to the inner seat and subsequently spreading his damn legs so wide i was squashed to the window for the rest of the journey. sheesh.

-

Right okay i'm appeased. Who said bitching doesnt relieve anger/annoyance/pissed-ness/whatever you call it.

Really bums me to realise it's our 2nd last week in school.. and pretty soon we'd be seating for the big As...

Pressurepressure...

right. econs. bye.

Oh oh oh. P.S found this really interesting quote while reading some stuff

In Italy for thirty years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, bloodshed - they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love, five hundred years of democracy and peace, and what did they produce? The cuckoo clock

I know it's unfairly biased, but yea.. LOL

Monday, August 17, 2009

just realised how ill disciplined i was in terms of practice. havent touched an instrument for aeons... yes, the slacker has been bumming off going to the music studio zzz...

freaking guilty sheesh. i think i'm gonna do some strokes to absolve some of that guilt..
Standard Chartered Marathon Volunteering registration is open. 6th Dec who's in? :)

pah didnt managed to finish my work over the weekend zz and i'm tired.

for the sake of concentration tmr.

time for zz.s
sometimes i wish they would realise that i'm no longer that obedient little boy, who shies away from the dark, who fess up to stealing the cookie from the cookie jar, who covers his ears at anything he ought not to hear.

that i'm no longer who they think i am. they reckon i've turned to bad company when i mention beer (honestly, i prefer hardliquor) or that i'm dating if i happen to be out looking at stuff with a friend (if only they knew), or even to the fact that they think i listen to new age music as well as classical only (wow variety)

oh well.

anyway, rally's on right now. as much as i'm interested in what's the government's take on Singapore and the world. With all due respect, i reckon i'll give PM Lee a miss, the speed is wayyyyy too slow, shall leave that to the adults, including the staff in our school who'd most likely go on and on tmr about how us students should have watched the show on tv the night before yadayada..... prolly just download a transcript of the speech from cna. so take that, those people out there who think youths are basically apathetic and ignorant.. well okay ignore me, i'm rather grumpy now.. after a failed attempt at tasting some heavenly chicken rice hidden in one of the neighbourhood hawker centres in angmokio

2nd time chionging there with my parents, both times we failed. reached at a good 7pm and guess what.. .stall's packing up. apparently the chickenmeats' all sold out. arghh.. you konw how you anticipate for the good food that is to come... worked up and appetite in the car on the way there of the succulent chicken meat i'm about to sink my chops into, of the frangrance of the rice, tinged with ginger and pandan, wafting into my olfactory receptors... you get the idea..

settled for a relative substandard pork ribs noodles instead..

noodles - too little oil, not smooth, smells too much of that uncooked flour
dumpling - no watercrest, no springy taste, plain filling
soup - too much garlic.
pork ribs - the only redeemer which is not too shabby

verdict - grumpy me.

so there.

30days to prelims. that means 2 more weeks of official lessons.

though there's GI Joe to look forward to :) (i believe in a balanced work play lifestyle)

but i'll gladly let work take a heavier scale if it means doing properly well for my exams.

here's to another wondrously busy week.
meant to go for a nice healthy run this morning. ( and pop by tamp1 topman to get a pair of jeans. heard got sale...) but anyway, the run was the main focus... (yea right.. -.-)

apparently something was wrong with the beef i ate last night, which i swear was uber good, but alas.. i was running alright.. running to the toilet this morning... ahhh.

going to the toilet at 6am in the morning is no joking matter.. combine sleep deprivation with... yea you know. and yea.. you get the idea..

damn.. there goes the jeans.. shall pop down maybe this wed or something..oh well.

anyway, as much as i hate to admit, taiwan dramas are making me a wreck. seriously gosh.

and breakfast is taking awfully long to come home. mum and dad went to chinatown to eat porridge... sigh.

Saturday, August 15, 2009

"It is reasonable for people to ask questions, but ultimately the government holds the responsibility for deciding how much to reveal in our best interests."

- some impt guy.

interesting.
ahh i cant stand irresistably soppy taiwanese dramas!! they're damn nice!!!

oh gosh.. *stabs stabs
Right. Econs was hand breaking as usual.

Seating at the same spot chionging through 3essays in 2 and half hours is no joke.

Note: i have to

1) Increase my writing speed
2) Improve my increasingly illegible handwriting

else Aunt Molly back in England would have something to curse about come December when she marks my paper in her cosy home by the fireplace. Or Uncle Tobias. whatever.

right anyway.

:( i think i just lost my entire month's pocket money.. i vaguely remember leaving it at my bedside and yea it's no longer there.. and as much as i'm quite loose in my spending this few days there is nooo way i could have spent my entire month's pocket money within half a month. and to think i was saving up for a nice pair of headphones. and jeans. argh.

/edit/

apparently dad havent gave me the months $$ yet so yes I didnt lose money!!!!! (goes out to shop)

/edit/

:) read a gooooodd fiction book that sharyn lent me today. yea it's a breath of fresh air after that likes of cryptic anne rice and the morbidities of Fight Club.

It's good ole' fantasy and it rocks. The joy of reading a good book with a wonderful storyline. it's unspeakable joy okay.. something like.. harrypotter. yes shutup i'm not a harrypotter geek but one thing Rowling's got it right is the amazing stories she weaves. this book just came very close to it. and hell she had 7books of harrypotter to weave her story and this was only a single book.. yes presenting....

yes i know it looks kiddy. it's not. seriously. fantastic book.. oh yes it's good enough for me to actually go google it for the image and post it here. so there. ahhhh

yes one more thing to add to my to-die-for list..

good books with fantastic stories.

now if only there was a sequel to this book.....

alright. shall chill abit, study abit, and head of to granny's for some good granny dishes :)

ciao!
my many plans to come online / study late night as always failed.. it usually begins with sleeping at 9 at setting my alarm at 3. which usually end up not responding to. --''

yesterday was the same case. was hoping for a short nap of abt 2hrs before waking up to do some micro.. And come online.. (brother's hogging day at night. so yea. desperate measures...) but oh well.. on the plus side, i'm well rested :)

it's the weekends already. another mugging spree. whee. sigh.

Came across a friend's post, of the alternate ending to the Wolf and the Three Pigs.

The wolf came to the first pig’s house which was build with straws. He took a deep breath and made a HUFF and a PUFF. The first pig’s house blew apart, and the pig shivered in the thought that he would be the meal of the wolf.

But the wolf seemed to not want to eat the pig. He stood there watching the straws fly into the wind. And then he looked at the shivering pig in a fetal position.

Walking forwards, the wolf whispered into the pig’s ears ” You are not worth to eat.”

As the wolf walked away, the pig screamed and ask for the wolf his reasons.

The wolf turned back and said, ” If you didn’t even know how to build a house, eating you would give disgrace to my herd.

We hunt to savour the freshest meat. And the freshest meat comes from those who run and give themselves a decent chance to live. Yet when you build that house in straws little pig, you’ve already condemned yourself to death.

What’s worthy of eating such a thing like you whom is neither dead nor alive? ”

And the wolf paused to watch the pig squirm.

“Only disgrace, stranger. Only disgrace.”

~

it's fantastically brilliant. :) brilliant writer

and oh dear, the principal's talk draws near. and considering the similarly terrifying depictions as described by a few friends... oh boy.

Monday, August 10, 2009

artemis fowl is seriously a fabulous read. stupendous indeed. :)

gonna settle some stuff for school tmr and sleep it all off. it's been a long day.

glad

alas, there goes the weekends.

went th's house today, not as productive as i hoped, but decent. got through some stuff which would have been rendered impossible at home with the HIMYM serials beckoning at me inches away and the lovely percussive dins by the adorable construction workers just a stone throw away. (let me at them with my stones anyday..)

and i'm back to good ole' fiction courtesy of artemis fowl :) nothing better than a good book after a brain drain involving the copious stacks of material on my table.

some food for thought. reading bout the epic jams by discount loving motorists caused by Shell's mega discount yesterday.. i wonder.. so oil prices are relatively inelastic in relation to demand when they're increasing and highly elastic when decreasing? hmm...

stuffs hanging around in my mind lately, but it's all cool.

oh well. weekends are over, time to get cracking. which reminds me, time to cut down the spate of blogging cause i vaguely remember announcing the same thing some time ago.. oh well. till then, then.

mad rush over the week. 4days this time round. fabulous.
plague.

Shenanigans with the bunch :D

met up with sk at sengkang mrt to go to clarke quay. as usual, we (note: collective we) are late as usual. supposed to meet at 130pm we all reached roughly around 215 with of course lady jom reaching 230-ish..

was hoping to hit the bahkutteh store opposite central.. but then the frightfully warm mid afternoon weather plus the fact that there was no aircon (yes we are very spoilt people) resulted in us chionging back to central to hunt for something to eat. stumbled upon and pretty decent pasta place. i think it was called pasta and soup. owns pastamania flat. price decent. place to go for future adventures :) right. so after hanging around at the homemade sweet shop at central we decided to walk down the sg river with no particular aim in mind .. (well we were thinking of going to cathay to watch some movie which wasnt really decided but yea.. you'll see)

the awesome pasta :)

the i love singapore sweet that we got ourselves crazy over

you know what it feels like walking down sg river to city hall with other foreigners and yourself clutching a camera in your hand? Yep, tourists to singapore heyho :) *cues chow yun fatt the pirate's eaglespreaded hands "Welcome to Singapore!!!"

Realised ACM was having some kinda open house with some old-ish Singapore history+culture stuff, some segment on the Kangxi emperor and some yay we love singapore activities.. since admission was free :), we went in. (plus the fact there was aircon lol)

kids doing some kind of flag thingy.

oh econs could never leave our minds when we were asked to write something about what we wished for Sg and tack on some board near the entrance..

one thing's for sure, singapore is darn happening around that area. lots of Singaporeans docked in red and white and many foreigners here and there. reallly bustling. sort of thrived in the vibe i got from the place.. strangely nationalistic, if you get what i mean.

get what i mean?

and so we headed to esplanade to check out the crowds waiting for the fireworks..( yes WAITING FOR THE FIREWORKS. FYI it was a good 3hours away from the fireworks...) and so. after dropping sk off at cityhall cause he had to go to the NDP@Padang, decided to go ahead with original plan to go to Cathay for a movie. after much deviations... something i really like, the spontaneity of how we start doing things totally not on the agenda. and so i remember this famous quote... "If you plan... You plan to fail..." yes shuddup i know i tweaked it a little bit, but it sounds nicer this way don't you think? :)

yes the courtesy lion Has to show up..

some of the foreigners already 'chope'ing sits

some neat sg band playing away

Cathay turned out quite.. hahah.. headed to dhobyghaut.. took some random picture with a briefcase and a camera advertiserr.. is this how you call it? you know.. those thingys in big costumes and all walking around advertising for a brand usually. LG electronics if i'm not wrong.. yes they were a walking briefcase and camera.. a so-have-to-take photo lol.

outside cathay

Anyway, Cathay's movies wasnt really suited to our plans cause we wanted to say that nation wide pledge thingy at 822pm.. figured the cinema prolly wont pause the movie to make everyone take the pledge.. so yep. hung around outside Cathay abit just chilling and thinking where to go over a few games of bridge.. yes jomel brought poker cards (applaudes her for foresight) hahaah.. wanted to go to timbre actually but decided it's gonna be crowded...

Then this brilliant plan just suddenly popped out. (courtesy to me thankyou) well you see, since th wasn able to join us, decided if we could make it in time, we'll pop over to his house and suprise him and we can take the pledge together!!! :D hahah brilliant right.. and that actually happened lol.

Chionged to sengkang.

jom's first lrt ride.. she had to take a photo.

Headed over to jalan kayu for some prata (there was time to burn) before cabbing down to his house (so dear friends omg) where we called him and asked him to come down and meet us at his void deck... oh we bought selegie tau huey for him.. so nice right!! hahahah.. In the end, went to his house instead where we hung around for the next hour or so finishing up NDP parade. AND TAKING THE PLEDGE + singapore idol.

prataa

ironic.. he was getting drinks from the fridge for us when we were taking the pledge.. to think we went all the way there to take the pledge with him.. -.- but nevermind, i swear he was quite chuffed at us going over haha.

the bunch. (without sk)

anyway, i came to see one of the chief reasons i love my friends so much - this very group of people. How we value one another, and the bonds we shared, even though we have led seperate lives since sec4, the day was still spent insanely fun and updating each other on our lives.. how we went to th house cause he couldnt come out with us.. (oh and we decided to meetup the next time flying kites at the big field at anchorvale since it's near sengkang and th would prolly have no problem coming then).. those are the reaons why... that really heartwarming feeling i get spending the time with them :))))

right probably would be the last time i'm going out before getting down and dirty with the books. (okay fine maybe one or two more occasions but yea, down and dirty with the books..)

oh one more thing. Sg idol is getting better.. first episode and so many decent singers. and wth. VJ is gonna have something to cheer about soon with kimberly in the contest.. honestly, she's gooooddd.

Right, parting words.

I love singapore :) (seriously, i've never sang so much NDP songs today on such random times before...Picture bursting into Where I Belong walking past the CBD at raffles and serenading Home behind the flat of th' house... yep you got it.)

how apt. wmp is playing You Raise Me Up right now.. neat.

hahaha

/edit/
woah freaking hell didnt realised i typed such a long post until i saw it on the blog.. yea i'll upload some pictures to make it more readable or something.. that is, after jom sends them over...

/edit/

yessa done... :D oh and i'm loving this pic :)

no photoshop okay.

oh its taken at acm btw.

yep. done :)
HIMYM addict :)

and. i editted my html. after numerous attempts with the help of fil :)
I am of the opinion that LongHouse sells the best prawn noodles in Sg :D

the soup is heavenly. period.

today's a wonderfully productive day (note: day, not night)
went to changi airport macs to study with friends. aside from 30mins of taptap on friend's itouch :X, covered quite alot of stuff. spent 5hours there. definitely studied more than if i had stayed at home, which just turned into a giant absorber of the construction works going on barely 100m away from me. Seriously, i think the development council around my area have got some problem. last year promos, and last Last yr olvls, exactly this period there was the dear construction works going on... 2years ago it was the neighbouring flat, a year ago it was the carpark, this yr it's the rooftop. -.- gonna zhao to my sec sch mate's house on monday to study lest i die from the noise pollution...

though my night's revision plans of chionging maths tutorials have hit a roadblock. seem to get stuck at the second bit of the questions in the darn tutorial more often. having to dig up my old tutorial answers from god knows where is a great deterrent to doing good work.. to me, math is a 'feel-good' subj. the more qns you do without difficulty and smoothly, it sorta cumulates to being more enthusiastic about doing more qns and stuff.. just 2nights ago i can happily do 2hrs of maths and now i'm dying on the 40min mark.... shall continue tomorrow :)

hence the productivity in the Day only today.. shall attempt to salvage the night by delving into IVLE later.

Clarke Quay Central with jom, gw, kc, sk tmr! excited! :D (pity th cant come zzzzz)

pardon me if you're dying from reading bout my highly exciting study escapades most of the time, cause thats currently The life right now. yes i know.. :( but yea :D

finished darn long book today afternoon. an anne rice novel.

you know how the language that you undertake in GP is quite a different style from your sec sch compos? i don't know bout you guys but i'm a fan of narrative/descriptive "Describe a scene where yadayada" compos so its a wholly different style.

something like. incredibly ornate Vs precise and apt
well, dealing with the latter for the past 1 and half years, going back to read those fantasy/fiction novels i have had an appetite for since my primary school days, i find it increasingly difficult to gobble down this books as i could before.. maybe because i start to recognize the individual unique styles and language that each author has, or maybe that 'ornamental descriptive abeit a little cryptic language' department in my brain seem to have gone into recluse ever since the onset of GP. probably it's the latter. i used to be able to craft unimaginably descriptive flowery details taken down to microseconds of a narration. now just thinking of a story to pen down into words is more difficult than penning down and example on a certain world issue in an essay.

it's quite depressing, how that flow is gone. must practice writing such stuff abit more. it's something i would never want to lose.

anyhow, i'm beginning to take a preferential for authors rather than the content of the book (well the content still Does matter) but after reading 2 books, one on the self apocalyptic crazed mindset of an anarchy in a highly dystopic sense and another on the life story of a vampire overcome by his heigtened senses and his inability to come to terms with the evil it believes it is, i think the language attracts me more to these books more.

okay i'm back to my rambling mode. shall stop on this topic.

shall highlight something i recently read on a friend's blog.

i cant say i wholly agree about the useless piece of cert it supposedly is, but it's great to hear a voice against the majority who favour and absolute crackdown on all things non-conventional and nice (i.e non-academics) in light of major tests.

yes the big A is indeed one of the most important tests of my life, if not the most important in all my 18 years. but if that means suppressing an ongoing passion, and turning away boundless opportunities at an age where such chances abound, i say nay. True, more time Must be spent, i correct myself, Much More time must be spent preparing for this big test of your life but it can never amount to sacrificing all the aspects of life off the beaten track that each of us individual have of our own. i agree with my CGT, who mentioned that Some would have to make way, and i respect him for the respect he gives for these little joys. but let not others dictate what you shall or shall not sacrifice as it is ultimately your own decision and your own life you live. anyway, cheers :)

right i know this is getting a little lengthy, but i shall ramble a little more, i quite like the feeling of typing away of anything popping up in my mind.

Today's national day celebration. watched a screened movie 'foreverfever' in the LT. nice show, but i cant help questioning several aspects of the show as merely a desire to increase ratings with a common technique among modern day artistic producers - an increasing presence in the postmodernist era of today, the aim to offend. and so within the first 10minutes you have the protagonist's naked butt for all to see during his shower, a kid brother who decides he wants to be transexual and comes dressed in the latter of the movie as a woman. not in the comic drag that kumar pulls off mind you. and oh ofcourse the necessary F-word that gets tossed out loud and clear, i must say, very accentuated and enunciated at that. but hear me out: its a great show :) national day songs ended up being played towards the end and in some insane nationalistic pride i found myself humming gaily to this familiar tunes *cues dance move from the chorus of Deep In My Heart verse from Where I belong.

and omg i just thought of something else to talk bout.. okay i shall shut up at that. but just one last question to ponder upon, something i foud myself pondering every now and then. all cause of a GP question i stumbled upon a few days back in a writing exercise. Is there any appeal and value in the fantasy films? of for that matter, fantasy novels? *hint harrypotter

right,

your incredibly verbose writer signing out.. -.- lol
just got home.

bumped into aldrick just now. apparently he was given 7days for genging a headache by the doctor.. nice one.

3days to mug. 1day to chill

Chocz rock. I just died 5mins ago from that little piece of heaven I savoured.

:))))))))))
There's something wrong with the book i got myself started to read. apparently it's some kinda movie. 'Fight Club' it sounds like some kinda thriller fiction-ish fantasy novel eh. the blurb fooled me -.-

the language the author uses.. its... disturbing. yea.

check it out:

organised chaos. the bureaucracy of anarchy.

Don't think of this as extinction. Think of this as downsizing.
For thousands of years, human beings had screwed up and trashed and crapped on this planet, and now history expected me to clean up after everyone. I have to wash out and flatten my soup cans. And account fo every drop of used motor oil.
And i have to foot the bill for nuclear waste and buried gasoline tanks and landfilled toxic sludge dumped a generation before i was born.
I head the face of mister angel like a baby or a football in the crook of my arm and bashed him with my knuckles, bashed him until his teeth broke through his lips. bashed him with my elbow after that until he fell through my arms into a heap at my feet. Until the skin was pounded thin across his cheekbones and turned black.
I wanted to breathe smoke.
Birds and deer are a silly luxury, and all the fish should be floating.
I wanted to burn the Louvre. I'd do the Elgin Marbles with a sledgehammer and wipe my ass with the Mona Lisa. This is my world, now. This is my world, my world, and those ancient people are dead.

~

get the picture? multiply it throughout the whole book. disturbing read. very edgar allan poe-ish. but somehow, it's pretty interesting. the nuance of language. don't get be wrong but it's so sickishly wrong its fascinating to read.
-.-

okay fine nvm, i'm making it worse.

~

anyway, national day weekend :) lovely thing.

as usual homework piles.

brr.

i know i prep-ed myself for it for so many days, but now that it's all over, the feeling sucks, it's like removing some part from within me, and irreplacable part, that very essence, just lost.

i can't describe it, i cant.

i know it's a sacrifice i need to make, but it's more than that. it's a loss.

that saying, today was something great. yes mistakes were made, but it never felt so good, the group of us under the glow of the studio lights, a radiant circle encircling us, as we brought to life the black and white notes on the sheets of music that were before us, making it our own. It felt so free of inhibitions, of restrains, of worries. yes i was still scared, but how it sounded didnt matter in the end, it was how we felt, playing it.

i know it may sound incomprehensible, the idea of which puzzling you but it's just different.

that saying, i'll be back.

~

on a lighter note, it's the national day weekend around the corner :)

and 40days to prelims. and 21mins to 39days to prelims.

golly.

Singapore bands and ensembles.. not bad.. all of them 80 and above pointers in WMC.. pretty happy in a sense... nation pride hahah...

Funfact 1:

at exactly 9.25 on a monday morning, my stomach would start to growl.. and squlech. yes.. i know eww.. i blame my stomach juices. i'm hungry. Recess on starts at 9.35.. and since the lecture hall is deathly quiet (lit lecture test every monday), i'm very, very audible to the people around me. i.e keyon. ironically he gave me Mr Greedy today. LOL

speaking of which. i'm hungry.. and PE never felt so good... but considering it's gonna be the last PE (prolly) i ever have, kinda bittersweet. sweet in the sense i don't have to freaking run like dogs every Pe lesson. recalls j1 horror when introduced to jc pe... sec sch pe was a breeeeezzee compared to this. i still can remember my first pe lesson. my muscles ached for a wk. a cough sends my abdominals into spasms. go figure ugh.

bitter in the sense.. yea its the last. so there.

hey don't get me wrong, i like sports. FYI i was in table tennis and badminton sch team in pri sch okay! yea i'm the type of sports kind of guy in primary school... and then i joined band in sec sch.. then.. yea.. hahah.. you know that adrenal rush you get from playing sports? yea i was permanently on that last time. which prolly made me look forward to pe everytime then. that feeling sort of wore off nearing sec4 and totally died in jc. maybe an occasional rush when i'm actually playing the game nowadays.. which soon will wear off after the game.. *onset sweaty + aching feet+toes*..

yea so i like sports oksy.. just not the sweating bit hahahaha...

and hence swimming is favourite :) go figure

and with the last of PE lessons. comes NS . T.T

right. i have a good 6-8months before NS so yea i should probably shut up about it and start studying for something in a much nearer future.
note to train like mad after that something-in-the-much-nearer-future.

ciao!

i'm kinda excited for PE tmr. (FYI i'm not exactly high on PE lessons so yea it's rare)

Handball woo~ HAHA

zirca

electronic dance music is keeping me on a permanent high in the wee hours in the morning. And. it is particularly conducive for reading GP articles.

forget it, it's not worth ruining my own life over.

~

i'm starting to like the pattern of doing work i'm adopting.

chionging the standard work during the week.
and during weekend:

Chem: do uncompleted timetrials + revise those topics
revise topic for test on monday
do a yr's paper + yadayada
Econs: Prepare essay plans for the entire week
Revise that segment of the syllabus
Maths: Currently chionging Differentiation and co. like mad.
Plus all the examples in the revision package that i didnt *oops* do the past week

GP: a paper + readings
Lit: yea. lit...

so yea that basically takes up my entire day. cheers. but thankfully there's 2 days in a 'weekend' :D

weekends are gonna be severely disrupted though. NDP's over soon and bro's gonna go back into the weekday bookin weekend bookout -aka Blasts of 'FIRST BLOOD' over the speakers while i'm studying. gg.-

notes to self to start sourcing for a good place outside to study during the weekend.

Wednesday's the last public performance i guess till don't know when. ensemble's shaping up fine. Regardless how i'm like supposed to be 1001% focused on my studies now. this wed's.. yea gonna give it my all. don't wanna leave the concert venue feeling unsatisfied.

I don't think I can ever give it up. 6 years. even a break; it's gonna be tough.

~

okay no. hiatus from ensemble playing. there. go figure.
