S for Sucker.

Got S for chem. in fact. i barely made the S. not that i didnt expect it of course, was just hoping for at least an E though. But wasnt really shocked or anything, didnt came as a surprise as i said earlier. A result of my tragic inability to study and prepare sufficiently for this march block test. serves me right.

we'll see during mid yr.

~

havent been encouraging so far, with dark hints by other STs of my rubbish MBT results.

but alas, learning point. move on.

and i am thankful that it isnt that situation where i slam my head against the wall in frustration, wondering why the hell i just couldnt get the coveted grades and on the other hand i actually know what went wrong.

yes i'm gonna repeat over and over again just for the sake of reminding myself:

I didnt study sufficiently. and consistently enough.

there.

slap my face once or twice and lets move on.

~

went to esplanade today to meet ct for brahms score and nicenice phyllis lent me a slot in her card space to borrow hindemeth's conductor score. which i can finally analyse from the comfort of home.

things to do : (while handling my tutorials AND revising lecture notes dont forget!)

Learn hindemeth properly.
Get started "internalising" brahms like how i did beethoven
Get in touch with my oh-so-rusty drumming skills in light of the possibility i might be taking up drums in pyouth.
Sort out hindemeht perc parts.
SOrt out phoon perc parts.
and learn phoon part of course.

and maybe learn a spare marimba piece. which i have been asking myself to do since jan. isch..

sounds like fun.

yesyes to not neglect my studies as well!!! YES I REMEMBER OMG... ( you know how people have this devil's advocate beside them speaking nasty words of sin to them? i have this angelic voice at the back of my head preaching to me about the virtues of studying and revision AND this niggling little voice yakking away on the other side about how i'd better study or else... )

i will work harder gahhhh.

~

i think i'm emotionally psycho, speaking to myself on this blog... the early stages of schizophrenia ahh..

~

speaking from where i left off, bumped into Kow after sitting thru an hr half of brahms with the fabulous headphones esplanade has and we dined at macs, which i expounded on the sinful pleasures of spamming 4 packets of pepper in curry sauce for absolute heaven. credits to jomel for the wonderful invention.HAHA

~

oh the issue btw me and the library has finally been settled with the assistant GM of esplanade library giving me very prompt attention abt the matter. heartfelt indeed.

~

oh did i mention i love wednesdays?

late school! :D

and there's band !!!

i have delightful plans for tmr's combined nyahahahaha XD

till then.

ciaociao! :)

EDIT//

broader perspective SIN and VIRTUE issue OWNS :D

Annnd i'm back :D

wont go into the really nitty gritty details bout band camp since it'll just bore you all.

for one, sleeping at 330am and waking up at around 630 - 7 for 2 days was no joke...

collapsed in peaceful slumber the minute i reached home :D lets just say i clcoked a gd few hours.

some eventful events during band camp. (yes. eventful events HAH) and in preparation for it

- going to shengsiong to shop like aunties for food.

- going all last minute PW-like madness an hr before band camp begins. "OMG JANNAH OMG!!!!!"

- the whole fiasco with the piano. (shit i realised i forgot to fix the piano stand during band camp kns.)

- the whole hoo-haa with the jap tutor. feeling darn guilty and pissed at the same time isnt a gd feeling.

- the night jaunts around school to place the clues (sharyn: okay i shall not walk any further than this. (stops 20 steps away from rooftop.))

- the self-appointed emcees with jannah. ( self induced high )

- chopping veges and peeling potatoes in pantry

- late night exco meeting with ms ong and ms tan

- reggie's impersonation of me in the skit -.- ( "i dont know whats the nicest way to put it to you -- shut up. " wth... and the *omg-im-so-excited jumps up and down -.- ) but it was funnny.. so yea hahaha

- the making of ALOT of waterbombs

- and how suprisingly comfortable i felt sleeping on the floor. lol

well all in all, band camp this yr was something really unforgettable in a sense that it was a fruit of labour of the countless days that went preparing for it and the late nights we spent during the camp sorting stuff out.

the preparation of the waterbombs. the repetition of the same job. the quick progress we were making working together as a group. just a simple menial activity. showed loads.

damn i love the exco :)

and mjcsb :D

right. oh hindermeth reh slotted inbtw band camp was horrible. my tuning was darn off. the margin of the page cut off bits of my score. the darn score wasnt even accurately printed. ( i was missing some notes wth ) and couple that with 3hrs of slp the night b4. epic.

shall chiong down to esplanade one of these days once more to check out hindemeth and brahms for this sat and thurs respectively.

oh received my break down of exam results when i came back today.

Woo 15/18 for aural. so it wasnt THAT bad after all ahah

filing the cert away. i looked at my piano exam certs and their results breakdown prior to this and i saw a whole world of difference.

gosh my piano exam results suck btw. so yea.. guess perc still rocks more :) way more.

~

really wanted to tell @, but i just couldnt bring myself to.
really too difficult to tell @.
and how @ would react

right. school TMR AND THE RELESE OF MBTS RESULTS AHHH!!!!

guilt-wrecked

right. pretty filled up day.

morning: actually supposed to go to janson's house with classmates for some swim 'n' gym but turned out all pangsehed jim and hence. he came to my house to chill till chem postmortem.. and we played pudge wars.. HAHAHAHA

right.

afternoon.

chem lecture was.. er. ok. well at least i know i'd most probably fail. but either if i pass or fail it still means the same, that i could have done better since obviously the questions that were went thru by the lecturers were wayyyy do-able. IF i studied sufficiently.

oh some of the chem lecturer's voices are painful.. that jarring sound against the ear. maybe its the mic volume.. but yea.. =X

anyhow, went shopping with exco and Mzz O at shengsiong like a coupa of aunties looking for bargains.. And we still have to exceed budget T.T lucky it wasnt alot so yea..

absorb absorb..

went over to jannah's house pick off where we left off for band camp. and had to leave halfway cause of reh. again.

on one side i couldnt stay to do what i ought to have been doing.

on the other side, we agreed to start at 730. but then i was late and it was quite... nvm.

u cant have the best of both worlds yea.

anyway yea.

on the mrt ride to laselle was kinda emo-ish. i actually prefer to consider it reflective or smthg... ah yes contemplative.

so anyway. i was listening to a playlist from my sec sch days and i realised i'm getting more emotionally moved with every single music with each passing day..

in the past i used to listen to the music, just like that. maybe feeling a lil' but it was no more then the dot. and i couldnt never fathom how people could cry, could kill themselves, or maybe to laugh like no tomorrow, or to be so exalted and all.

but now i can.

well fyi my favourite genre in sec sch was my "metal" phase. seriously all things metal, i like. and hence my playlist was simply just filled with the likes of lamb of god, iron maiden, metallica, bullet for my valentime and so on. and i felt. so much. just from the metal songs? the anguish they were conveying, the bitter hurt, the resentment against society, against life. it was so much.

and i thought back to how beethoven's funeral march made me tear.

how la forza tugged at my strings,

how the grandioso of overture ( EVEN OVERTURE ) just filled me with that glorious expanding feeling

it was way more than how i felt music, how i viewed music in the past.

in a sense i could say i have grown to be more sensitive. i could feel the changes.

first its the feelings and the emotions brought out.

and then it was the details. as i said metal. in the past i let some of my YO friends listen to the likes of iron maiden and they were telling me abt the repetitive diatonic bass chords and the pentatonic scale the lead guitar was playing at. and i was like o.O wth?

but now i get it.. i was listening to i'm not okay by MCR and ( yes its all the "complex" messy sounds ) i could freaking hear every single part magnified!! okay maybe not to the extent of telling u the exact chords. but i could actually identify the presence of such chords. the tone the texture. everything!

its kinda cool. im happy for that :) makes listening to old music from a whole new perspective altogether. wonderful :)

right anyway. marimba spiritual was kinda awesome, the slow bit.. really spazzzyyy

u know those types where contemporary percussionists randomly play stuff reaaalll slow and look all emoish? there u got it.

loving it sia..

and thank goodness the other players know how to chill well and was like.. " eh you reach alr??? we still eating siaaaa" quite comforted knowing that they purposely add a lot slower today.. and ended like 1030-ish... -.-

but yea its cool.

and JOMEL was in MJ hHAHAHA to "see" her junior LOL (shant expose the details for fear of "OIIIWENG!!!!" )

and someone actually thought JOMEL is a guy HAHAAHAHAH

ok nvm aha

@,:)

right band camp TMR~

and *horrors* i wont be updating for 2days in a row... gosh thats like unheard of since japan trip?? LOL

right thats all for today :D

ahhh yess.. HAPPY 18th BIRTHDAY JOMEL! :D

nostalgia 101

dota -> texas poker -> facebook -> uploading random overdue photos onto fb -> nostalgia

yep. i'm left with some of the photos from syo italy to upload...

but all in all the album sums up some events that took place in my life since j1? eventful moments that were captured :) not all thouugh, had to censor some damn unglam shots of myself HAHAH...

Moto Perpetuo

time to start working on new marimba pieces.
and yes its over.

maths: felt weird doing it. the same "do-able paper, IF i practiced well beforehand" feeling..

note to self: thou shalt not maketh the same error once more for MYEs.

and study way beforehand instead of lousy last minute cramming.

right. either way. even though its over.. it doesnt feel right.. nvr felt right since i entered jc. when i was in sec sch, the aftermath of every single exam was like.. WOAHHH YEAHHH GO OUT PLAY ARHH!!! but now it just feels weird, like u ought not to be celebrating or what.. then certain unease yea... but beats the notion of having an exam the next day though..

either way, went for chow at ikea after maths and after some random toss-around ideas we decided to make a trip to joel's house to check out his living conditions. (yes seriously that was the primary purpose)

so we chilled there watching movies (movie, actually) and realised joel's favourite pasttime of watching high stakes poker on youtube... (yes seriously, there are LIVE recorded vegas poker games on youtube. ) and it sorta got me kinda tempted to try out texas poker on facebook.. so yea..

anyhow, yea it feels kind of weird absolutely chilling around house without sitting down and doing some learning on my content subjs... i think i might just take out a gd textbk to read later on.. call me sick and i'll whack you. it just feels right doing so, reading something..

hmm maybe i'll continue with my new book , brave new world, (YES I FINALLY AM READING IT!! HAHAH) or continue with my constant psycho-analytical research into human nature and behavior which i have been putting off in light of the MBTs.. or i might just start working out my wrists on that drumpad gathering dust after inactivity for like one wk... well i have the time now.. but then again, i think i'd just opt for a night of chilling out at the desktop doing absolutely nothing productive.. a rare luxury for a long time.. and engaging in human activities probably the following day..
speaking of which. my dad seems to have struck a liking for computer games as he's liked glued to the screen beside me on the other computer playing what seems like a fish game... -_-

ah now he finally realises the joy and comfort a simple square box can bring..

~

just a passing thought.

i'm gonna do something special this time for my birthday. something i wouldnt ever think of doing.. just felt i ought to do something different this yr marking my 18th :)

~

right.

off to chill.

smell ya guys later,

:)

oh recall the long ago post about my diatribe against the library and me sending a letter of complaint..

i just realised that instead of "the library does not allow the public to listen to NORMAL audio CDs" i wrote " the library does allow the public to listen to NORMAL audio CDs" -.-

u know how malu is that.. considering the letter was one helluva sarcastic megapunch at the service of the library designed to hurt and question?

a grevious typo error arghh.... (buries my head in the ground)

oh. how i knew bout this?

they replied after so long :

we are sorry for the delay regarding this matter and will get back to you as soon as possible.

~

so they effectively acknowledged that there was a delay to the matter

~

in which was the reason why i sent the second letter to them a wk ago about how an acknowledged reply is useless until they give me a proper reply explaining the situation. -.-

organisations.. tsk.

i think i might just get a U this time round.

been doing maths since 4pm till now and i'm dyingggg now i know what joel means after every maths lecture when he says that -.-

I HATE MATH OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

seriously

u know the feeling when the whole period of time, numbers suddenly seem so foreign to you? yea thats the feeling... i was staring at a differential equation for 10minutes think what the hell is that zzz

yea its that bad arhhh..

and doing all that revision just made me realise why the hell in the first place i took maths as a H2.. its the only subject that gives me that confounded headache from time to time (most of the time) and only on the rare occasions some inner mathematician in me surfaces and scrapes me thru SOME of the tests...

and the rest of the time, countless of brain cells are needlessly martyred over the complexities of this confounding set of numbers and what-nots... that could have been better spent on other subjs.. yess.. content subjs like econs. and even a SCIENCE subj like chem ... anyday man...

but since the decision was already made a yr back... no choice but to stick with it... and for the first time in my life i might actually go against my principle to get a freaking tuition teacher (in case you guys dunno i'm horrified at the notion of paying money for extra homework chucked at you) for maths... just to spare myself from the whitewash clogging up my brain on the eve of the exam.. if theres one thing i like bout maths, its probability.. seriously.. what better than pure simple chance then confounding deriavatives of arbitary what-nots and unknowns?

gosh

thank goodness i'm done "looking" thru most of the topics ... leaving myself with vectors and probability.

if theres one thing i like bout maths, its probability.. seriously.. what better than pure simple chance then confounding deriavatives of arbitary what-nots and unknowns?

as for vectors... have i told you guys how much i suck at all the "directions" stuff? hence, Never ask me what direction to go next, i'll just randomly walk in the direction that looks the best.. -_-

and forget bout magnitude. i still hold the belief that clarke quay is nearer to victoria concert hall than VCH is to city hall cause i get to walk the nice breezy Singapore River on the first route. so there.

(now if only there was blogging for an exam...)

Chem today.

wont bother launching into anything hah..

but econs paper was relatively easier i guess..

but oh well. do-able definitely (if u studied enough). but mcq was rather... gahhh NO TIME AHH!H!!!

but actually liked how my mcq went compared to my other sections... hahaha

aiya. at least i know this time round if i didnt do well its because i didnt study thoroughly enough. gahhh..

PASS!!! *cross fingers.

right. maths. the most... ARGHHH paper.

but the best part abt it is its straight forward. do or die. :)

well but for the calculus bit its still die for me... but lets just see how the subsequent crammin session will change anything shall we?

AH LAST PAPER!!!

promise i'll start way earlier for midyrs zz ...

Monday, March 23, 2009

right. first day OVER.. 2 down . 2 to go!

gosh its ending soon hahaahahahah

right breakdown

econs:

As expected, tough. Reckoned i done pretty okay, considering the amount i studied for it. ( its a relative thing )
Case study was pretty okay. but was stunned abit at the causes of stagflation. (yes slap me...)
Essay. tough stuff.. but yea as said, expected. qn 2 was like ????? Discuss the indicators economists use to assess the industry in the country.. right so which topic is that under hur hur... many discussions bout that.. micro la. macro la.. blahblah.. but we'll see this fri wont we... yes its not even a wk they're holding a makeup post mortem lecture already.. did we even miss a lecture????????? (make-up) but of course they need to hurry and continue with the syllabus so its not their fault...
a pass... yea i guess so. ( aiming for passes for this MBTs )

setting realistic goals first.. then work my way slowly up.

lit:

i actually enjoyed doing this exam compared to econs? i think compared to all the other subjs. yes including GP. cuz it's kinda fun writing about life and stuff on a sheet of paper other than on this blog. so yea.. sorta like blogging HAHAHAAH...

well that doesnt mean i would do well though. i think i'd get a U for all the crap i write on this blog anyway..

unseen poem was okayyy considering i only understood the poem as i wrote the essay. so yea. ( i have that problem of only understanding the poem fully after i complete the essay -_- )

othello bit was kinda.. zzz. well i completed the essay. but i thought i didnt do myself justice there. felt something lacking throughout the essay. i think it was the structure. -.- but nevertheless its a decent enough piece of work.

guess i'll get a pass? (scraping it maybe. but yea a pass is a pass)

( yes i set low goals this time. considering that past records of students fail their MBTs more or less. i think passing this MBTs gonna be pretty okay.. lets take it one step at a time )

.

right.

my arts subj done. now the nasty science subjs!! AHHH!H!!!

Chem tmr!

kbye :)

Sunday, March 22, 2009

syfo in 6days. havent sorted out people to play the parts yet. darn it. awaiting reply from some people to confirm their availability. oh the agony.

~

and so the fervour begins, with economics marking the "first" paper, since GP was last wk.

*flurry of pens and scratches on papers.

.
.
.
.

damn.

i cant find my AD/AS model lecture notes. ( be thankful its a foundation set only instead of some impt content notes. )

and

i totally didnt realise there was elearning to be done during the march hols which are RELEVANT to the MBTs.

.
well on the plus side i think i'm adequately prepared for this exam. adequately.
( i hope, but that i will only know when i see the results. )

but then again. they sort of pre-empted a killer paper for us alr. with their make-up MBT debrief lecture this fri saying how "we're gonna want to know how to exactly do those questions..."
.
lets just see how it goes.

and then there's lit paper tmr. too.

*cue screams

kbye.
people who don't reply their sms-es ought to be tickled. severely. period. -_-

~

ah anyway, the past 2hrs or so was gd cuz i finished econs j1 :D

tmr begins the "study for whats coming on nxt dayy", and in a flurry of 4days, it'll be OOOVVVEEERRR :D till aft syf b4 jumping back onto the bandwagon and chionging for the magical "A"s!!!

gosh i feel so motivated i want to hug myself :) *hugs myself

right.

i think its the time.. i ought to start shifting my slping hours back to the normal 1130 or i'll never be able to focus properly during the exams in the morning in the near future..

aighhtt . TO MBTs!!

(goes off to slp)

PROductive day

well today was a pretty darn productive day. not in terms of mugging. as much as i want it to be.

had volunteers training for AYG during the morning to mid afternoon at TP.

did some networking here and there and met friends from all walks. Lovely.

from some lady from the commerce industry, another in the accounting office, some undergrads, the poly peeps, to even a jolly retiree out to have fun :)

i love networking. :) the joy of just meeting people u have never met before in ur life and just chitchat away about our hobbies, interests and what-nots.

love volunteering hah. great opportunity to meet people.

looking forward to the days of the actual event !! :D

yea well. thats the main highlight. time to make it a productive night :) econnsssssss

(u know i haven done calculus for the whole of march hols. i think i'm screwed for maths. damnnn..)

but either way. no reason to let in slack on other subjs. try to get my content subjs right for this MBTs before really working on this practice-based subj.

right. laselle tmr morning. even in light of my impending exams... her exams are coming too. since i agreed to help its only right i do it properly.

so there. but of course i'm chionging off noon asap to study so yea.

And I NEED to go out to study zomg. i cant study at home during the weekends with my brother glued to the computer opposite my study desk dota-ing away. gahh...

right k. mug. bye.
big rollercoaster ride today.

super high in the morning. and mood turned darn emo as the day progressed.

and then i received my results for my perc exam just half an hr ago

DISTINCTION OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
DISTINCTION OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
DISTINCTION OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
DISTINCTION OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
DISTINCTION OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
DISTINCTION OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

DISTINCTION OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
DISTINCTION OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

DISTINCTION OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
DISTINCTION OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
DISTINCTION OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

135/150. :D

u must understand i thought i was barely going to pass so this is one helluva suprise :D

gosh darn grateful to whoever helped me one way to another!!!

okay now i wait for the break down of results by post.

i'm a happy boy now :)

~~~~~~~~~~~
right
anywayyy
morning high event :
classic example of the ultimate lateness of ma friends.
was supposed to meet with some of the exco peeps at 845 at singpost. obviously i was late hahh.. and at 9am. sharyn smsed " is anybody gonna arrive soon?" HAHhhh
its kinda sad.. so yea. anyway. told sharyn i was at macs already when i was gaily walking from paya lebar mrt station.
and hence the sms begun..
"where"
"i'm at macs already. try waving ur hand. i'm waving like mad already" (of course that was me) i was picturing her waving her hands like some clown hahaha.. but damn she didnt do it :( but i was chuckling to myself already as i walked towards singpost, earning my a coupa of weird stares.. -.-
she called me.
and so i was like. i'm in macs LA>. u nvr see me mehh!!!! what colour u wearing??
she said black. and i was like " oh that hideous looking outfit that i see, thats u??" pity she didnt hear that hahah.
so anyway she found out abt the whole bullshiting her thing and was like -_- for awhile HAHAHA
much to my enjoyment :)
anyway went back to cchms..
they had sme kinda practice camp..
nthg much to say..
heard them for combined and took a lil' sectionals.
and gossiped with my 1-yr-junior batch :D and a certain 2-yr-junior... haha
right..
talked abit bout "stuff" with wenrong and phyllis after that..
felt kinda emo afterthat..
u know sometimes in life u have moments u have no idea what u're doing and wondering why u keep going in the direction u've always been going?
yea i was feeling pretty much that after talking with them..
like how you know that ur heart and soul is into it but ur technique just cant match up?
stuff like that.. depressing realyl..
well at least my mood lightened up considerably (ACTUALLY ALOT) receiving the results.. i was like screaming DISTINCTION to my parents over and over again hahahaha
okay.
thats all
volunteer training tmr morning
ciaociao!
Thursday, March 19, 2009
reading janson's list. he just reminded me to actually start borrowing the bk Brave New World. hahah the notion came about last yr and somehow it got shelved in light of promos haahah
well the afternoon was kinda sad.. the inner slacker is released once again..
i still haven finish organic chem.. -.- was dying as i struggled to internalise the final bits of the notes into my mind. and into pieces of paper for a review... i'm left with 2 more topics..
oh but i'm still pretty happy with the day. could have been better of course. but satisfying nonetheless. well for one i'm on the final verges of completing a proper summary of organic chem in 10sides. yes sides. that means 5 sheets of paper hahahah lovely.
well some people may question why the hell i'm wasting ink. but i realise that the best way for me to learn stuff is to make my own notes out of everything so yea.. i do this like every major exam. yes MBTs is considered a major exam, to me that is.. -_- so can u imagine the numerous summaries i have? hahah but since it works, why not?
anyway.
lemme revise my schedule and stuff.. alil.
most prob going to sch tmr in the early morning to study. yep i need to be away from this square desktop i'm staring at right now as i'm typing to do some proper stuff.
followed by an afternoon/night at cchms with their band camp..
Hence. study plan:
econs j1 topics, and macro stuff AND BORROW THE DARN BOOK FROM THE LIBRARY!!! (my ailing memory)
and at cchms, since i wouldnt be able to do does deep intensive studying shit with all the noise and distractions everywhere:
maths P and C and probability (to exercise the brain alil without it going overload)
and some lit. light and casual. perfect :D
-
oh something that irked me pretty much today.
as i effectively wasted the afternoon away... sort of, (my fault) i decided to go and bathe and stuff to freshen up at around ehhh nearing 5.. cuz i realised i study my best after a bath; got that mentally refreshed mindset.
and hence.
after the bath. effectively studied for 15min before parents call came.
"Xianggg Dinner..." (at 530pm)
apparently they decided to have dinner early..
guess when i'm at my laziest?
yup after food. and during mid afternoon so yea hahah
oh and apparently i function best at early evening 4-7.
so gahhh failed to do that study effective bit with the bath for at least a proper hr..
and including the fact that i'm gonna be hungry in 3hrs time since i only finished dinner 1 half hr ago.. --"
alright. i think i'll engage in some mr bean on the TV
yes the tv.. gosh i haven seen that bigger counterpart of a desktop screen for like.. wow... the last time i properly watched a tv show at home was.. during j1 june hols..
okay wth.
kk bye!
post concert Day1 :organic chem + j1 topics
not bad not bad.
woke up at 9am in the morning.. started studying at 930. the need to take a break came into my mind at 1130. Concentration span. 2hrs. Awesome :)
anyway it was time to eat anyway. so yea lunch.
Present: taking a break now :D post lunch break :D
5topics done. 4 more to go. should be spending the afternoon doing that.
j1 topics to be done at night :D
pretty productive morning i say :)
Ah Concert was FABULOUS :D
seriously i thought it was one of the best i had done in a YO concert. maybe because this is the first concert i've actually played most of the songs? (excluding pirates... that one epic fail.. note changing disaster.LOL)
bu then again. it was good stuff today. seriously.. encore twice :D awesome stuff. but then again haha okay thats for later.
Verdi: La forza Del destino
for an opening piece. it was awesome :D
seriously i think i'm in love with that piece already.. no mishaps for timpani :D (that i noticed)
Beethoven: Eroica!!!
oh man. after worrying for aeons abt play my first symphony and beethoven's somemore.. gosh it was awesome. okay i counted 3 mistakes not the major types so yea awesome :D
Encore: Pirates
oh this one... gosh. fun to play yes. but note changing disaster... change notes like every bar for a certain passage.. and considering thats the piece that garnered me my only opinion of the concert.. -.- "u ought to sit on a chair to play this piece" yea i ought to.. would make note changing alot easier.. but i haven learn how.. zzzzz
Note to self : learn to play the timps seating on chair asap... lol
oh and we played pirates twice somemore.. imagine the agony hahah..... but it was fun so it wasnt too bad.. oh for the first time.. my score actually dropped. ON THE TIMPANI!!!
and so my last solo Sfz roll was mega screwed -_- ..
*hits timpani. (paper rattles -.- )
right thats all for the concert post.. awesome concert. seriously :D
next up!
Brahms Symphony No.4
Commissioned piece by some Sg composer
1812 Overture
Hindemeth's Symphonie Metamorphoses!!!! AHHH!H!!!!
and maybe... MAYBE
rachmaninov No. 2 !!!!@.@
gosh u know sometimes i seriously love my life? thats the part i love abt it. being able to play the big works of such wondrous composers.. awesome
and the bad part is organising my time properly... but it wont be that difficult after syf's over though... but then again there's the big As.. so... we'll see.. BUT ALVL's COME FIRST!!!!
though i wont lax much on the side of music :D gosh loving it !
but in the meantime, i'll make use of the break till next saturday for some STUDYING!! MBTs ZOMG!!!!
(oh darn. my freaking schedule from next next wk onwards is starting to clash again with the new schedule for brahms out..siannn)
Tuesday, March 17, 2009
helluva eventful day today.
i witnessed.
the first steps of life as a gaggle of adults surrounded a baby as she left the hospital and into her new life.
~
and the final steps that family and friends took with the deceased as he moved on in peace.
~
the tears of happiness as they welcomed the new addition to the family.
and the tears of sorrow as they bid farewell to him.
emotionally purging indeed.
And as he prepared himself to face
the brave new world tomorrow,
he realised;
he was alone.
But thats life for you,
Second Chance
GP exam was.. okay?
well for one i didnt work to my best standards. my language marks will surely suffer. and of course the atrocious handwriting.
me: (engrossed in exam)
*mr cheong walks in.
*stares at my paper.
mr cheong: *smacks table. * Handwriting!!!
me: *train of thought kena broken.
DAMN...
haha
~
My eyes are open wide
By the way I made it through the day
I watch the world outside
By the way I'm leaving out today
He trudged home from his busstop as usual, a lonely figure against the backdrop of a slight drizzle in the late afternoon.
Well I just saw Hayley's comet, she waved
Said "why you always running in place?
Even the man in the moon disappeared
Somewhere in the stratosphere"
(nightfalls)
He was the only one still up. His parents were long asleep. Not as if they care whether he's up or not anyway.
Tell my mother, tell my father
I've done the best I can
He gazed up at the clock hanging from the wall at the far end of the room a spot against the dirty-green wall. It was slightly cracked around the edges, worn out and dusty. No one cared to dust it, only pausing to stare at it every now and then for the 2 metal hands that constantly circled around its center.
It was close to midnight already.
To make them realize
This is my life
He was tired. Tired of trying so hard. Yet no one seem to knew, to understand. As he capped the nib of his pen, for its final time, he took a look around him. The room that he grew up in. The objects on his table, the sole listeners he had as he poured his troubles out night after night.
I hope they understand
He was truly tired.
I'm not angry, I'm just saying
He opened his drawer, taking out the object that would end it all, glistening against the cold light emnating from the flourescent bulb above him.
Sometimes goodbye is a second chance
~
Please don't cry one tear for me
I'm not afraid of what I have to say
This is my one and only voice
So listen close, it's only for today
As he lay by his side on the cool hard floor, it seemed oddly comforting, as he felt a chill seeping through his body, enveloping him as he thought:
Well I just saw Hayley's comet, she waved
Of his first day at the new school.
Said "why you always running in place?
Of his decision that decided his path;
Even the man in the moon disappeared
Of the late nights that followed,
Somewhere in the stratosphere"
as the year passed.
Tell my mother, tell my father
I've done the best I can
(He felt his eyelids getting heavier every second)
Of the blows he took in silence,
To make them realize
This is my life
Yet putting on a bright smile as he made his way through his school year.
He was tired.
I hope they understand
I'm not angry, I'm just saying
His eyes drew to a close.
Sometimes goodbye is a second chance
Hit with a sense of inspiration by the song Second Chance, by Shinedown. Sorry if it sounded kind of morbid.
ahh yes my first deviation from the schedule. didnt do any econs. too engrossed with GP.. and looking up random quotes on the internet :D
oh c'mon its a sunday.. haha
no really time really flew past cause reading those random articles in my attempt to study for GP made me check up some of the stuff online, such as the Oprah Winfrey Foundation and of the polygamy of FLDS. and of course the constantly debated topics of death penalty and euthanasia..and the whole issue of gays and all. i have pretty strong views bout these stuff so feel free to talk to me abt them. but i warn u, i'm tremondously verbose :D And u may not like my opinion but oh well..
strangely i actually enjoy devouring article after article on different random stuff abt the world.. i can actually feel my brain categorising every little bit of information into the little documented shelves to be dug out off sometime in the near future (tmr)
so there.
anyway, to end of with a lovely quote, something to ponder over.
Man is God's greatest masterpiece. But who says so? -- Man.
LOL
the problem with the sudden lack of things to do after the constant hectic rush during my wkends = BOREDOM!
a normal sunday :
Laselle (morning)
Pyouth (afternoon)
Dinner with plocks (possibly night)
sunday today:
(insert blanks)
u get the idea.
i know i ought to be slapped. when i have too much things on my hands i gripe abt not having enough time and now with NOTHING on my hands i moan abt being bored..
hah but i'd rather have stuff to do.. imagine post syf-.- i think i'll die... -_-
right anyway did proper studying ACCORDING TO THE SCHEDULE HAH!
did the GP part of the studying. reread zenith the 3rd time. broader perspective completed. browsed thru my essays. i think i'll start writing essay plans soon out of imaginary questions soon -.-
attempts to jio people out to study epic-ly failed. success rate: 0/5 wtf -.- as many turned indoors to study. cant blame them though. afterall, exams starting tmr arghhH!!
any attempt to revive my asphyxiating mind drowning in the mundanities of grammer, bordering on the upside-down cross of triviality was foiled by the downpour currently going on right now. -.- (had planned to make a trip to the library at compasspt to pick up some non-fiction bk and consider it revision for GP content and to pass my afternoon)
oh well. one can always rely on the trusty internet for comfort :D
now if u excuse me.... till then :)
maybe i'll update again at night after finishing my econs studying at night :D
gosh i'm so efficient teehee :)
Muggeridom
in light that some other compulsive blogger of his class has posted his mug timetable, our dear author has refused to be outdone and churned out his own comprehensive study/going out(confirmed) timetable online yesterday instead of the chunky timetable done in the previous post. He had intended to keep this comprehensive formula in his black bk of his as a secret weapon. but of course, modelling our GarMent's policy of transparency, he decides to be a good cityzen and follow suit.
MUG/GOING OUT TIMETABLE unveiled:
START WORRYING FOR RESULTS...
there. notice Lit isnt really in my study timetable.. for 1 its a H1. and for 2. all my bus journeys back and fro from places will be for Lit. since bus journeys sets one into that contemplative mood (stone).. hence.. what better than the intricate complexities of human nature in lit to ponder over?
and of course, some days look rather empty since one always have to leave space for unforeseen circumstances as well as emergency " OH MY GOD I STILL DON"T GET THAT FREAKING SUBJECT" scenarios.
ah and of course the occasional lapse to take a break with friends outside. or launching my hands upon the snare pad so that my arms don't get rusty from the lack of playing in this wk. speaking of which.. 1hr a day practicing seems to have decreased to 1hr every 3days. -.- this. is. bad. news. -_-
ok nevermind. i will resolve to up my practicing and of course TRY to stick to the teimtable i set out for myself.
today was cool. i did what i planned.. hahah i'm done with inflation woots~
~
the moments that we as a class shared. as we stared across the table into each other's eyes. and as our eyes meet hers from a distance; it spoke a thousand words. and the countless emotions that were conveyed. No one left with a dry eye. The stoic reality of life.
And in that single night, we shared her sadness. as much as we could.
Alas! Time to mug !
360 .
in light of my 360th post, it seems highly appropriate that my life seems to have undergone a complete turn over the span of 3days.
stuff happened and yea. changes it had on me.
the transience of life.
and
the confrontation of the unthinkable. and the ultimate rejection of it.
~
alas. the days of muggerdom has begun. trying to ease myself into the routine of studying instead of plungeing right into it.
yes my mind is one of those wandering things that never stays put for long.
~
Being with @, the pure simple joy. it grows by day. But will i ever be able to sum up the courage? I fear. where we would end up no better than before, but worse
I fear.
~
Hope she'll be alright soon. We're all behind her.
UFO.
I believe there will be a day when the Earth will change in its physical form, where the sea will rise to form the new mountains and the mountains will sink into sea. Humans will no longer be able to inhabit on Earth. However, i believe that people from a faraway galaxy will lend us a helping hand and offer us a place in their planet or on their UFO while Earth changes.
Hence the song about believing in the UFO.
-adapted from Yuzuru.
'Nuff said. Was an eye-opener ytd at laselle.
seriously. wow. i think her idea's cool though, the piece.
~
and of course. today marks the last day of term 1.
and the start of a wk long of intense mugging.
time to start trying those long periods of studying non-stop... when i say long i mean like anything more than 2hrs.
i know, slap me..
but i will attempt this march hols!!
MBTs YAY!!!~
well of course i'd be taking 2days to slightly chill one of which on the concert day one 18th march and the other.. maybe fri or smthg to visit and listen to cchmsb in action :)
and of course AYG training on sat :D woots i'm excited for that too!
haha life rocks again.
yes even in the like of MBTs. i'm actually anticipating the time i'm gonna spent studying :D
yes i know i'm sick hahaha
i rock. seriously LOL
looking at how janson seems to have had his hols planned out.. ( studying )
i figured i ought to plan abit... ehh.
maths. : learn the darn Calculus and get A for maths in MBTs!! WOO~~~~ lol (1.75days)
chem. : spout out organic chem like the crap i easily produce most of the time :) (1.25days)
econs : ok shit. i just realised i forgot to borrow the darn bk from the library. must do so tmr... nvm same same.. eh i think i will be spending less time on this. (1.15days?)
lit: yes.. make othello my best friend!! :D (0.6days)
GP: unfortunately. ( 0.25day. hahah mr cheong don't smack my head ... =X H2 subjs take priority as u said..)
3days for cchmsb, yo concert and rehs, philyouth prac and mjcsb prac
1 day for emergency purposes like eg: OMGOMG WHAT THE HECK IS THE DEFINITION OF INFLATION!!! AHHH!!!!!
and that excludes the studying on the bus.
:) MBTs here i come!!!
(note: then again. i'm not a stickler for schedules so yea.. lets c how it actually goes.. -.-)
Molly tries to teach kids out there Math today.
Let's start with the infamous problem sums that traumatize children of all ages.
Question:
Gary has 100, 001 apples. He shares the apples with another 10, 000 people. How many apples does each peasant get?
Model Answer with Tips:
* Note that the question doesn't tell you that Gary shares the apples equally among everyone. Thus, your answer would be wrong if you divide the number of apples by the number of people.
* Note also that the apples are not shared among 10, 000 people but 10, 100 people because you have to include Gary and Gary is equivalent to 100 people. Bet you were tricked by this one, children!
How do we solve this question then?
You have to solve the question meritocratically! That's the most fascinating branch of Mathematical inquiry these days. You have to decide who to get what. Molly's model answer:
Since Gary is the one who came up with the wonderful idea of sharing apples, he deserves 90, 000 apples.
This leaves us with 100, 001 - 90, 000 = 10, 001 apples.
And we have 10, 000 people left. What do we do?
Well, look. There are the Gary-linked-Children (GLC) that own apple orchards. Probability tells you that these GLC make up 10% of the 10, 000 people. This means that there are 1000 GLC.
Since these GLC are very important children, they deserve 10 apples each.
1000 X 10 = 10, 000
After we give these GLC 10 apples each, we have 10, 001 - 10, 000 = 1 apple left.
And how many people (in the form of peasants) do we have left? 10, 000 - 1000 = 9000 peasants
Each peasant will thus get 1/9000 of an apple.
That's all for today! Happy sharing apples, children!
awesome piece of writing on this eluding maths question.
her double entendres. the irony she infuses in her writing.. i'm completely blown away.
wonderful stuff.
(Kow nods frantically in agreement)
omg i think i just wanna slam my head on the table. -.-
forget it. being direct is the best way i guess.
~
1) concert prac tmr at laselle tmr
2) did some catching up on maths today
3) i'm kinda excited for the coming "holidays" where i get to study for 8hrs straight.
4) i signed up for my first consultation of the year. incidentally my first lit consultation in jc life.
5) the band room is becoming my 2nd home.
6) i'm running out of things to practice. back to fundementals.
7) Zi's NS-ing on fri. gd luck
~
did a self reflection thing i had to do for TM. doing that lame and corny thing (which i thought i was initially) really led me to discover some things myself.. then i only really realise it after i thought about it. ( so maybe it isnt corny after all! )
Greatest achievement:
Achieving Decent Enough Promotional Results and proving that i can have the best of both worlds to the people around me
Lesson learnt:
If you really want that something hard enough. The world will change for you to achieve that. It just depends on how you look at it.
Worst failure:
Failing to perform up to expectations on alfred reed's concerto
Lesson learnt:
There's a limit to how far you can push yourself. But that doesnt mean you cant try and do the best you can. at least i can now. (or at least, i hope)
An important decision i have had to make:
Whether to take up this mixed path of juggling my academics and playing music on a permanent basis for this 2 yrs.
Lesson learnt:
I can stretch myself much more than i thought i could
~
you guys ought to try it out. maybe u might discover something about yourself that u have placed at the back of your mind before.
~
right, back to stretching myself again or that precarious balance i'm at would tilt in light of the coming MBTs. (which could well mean the end of TM if i don't work hard enough)
~
so there we are again.
meeting the expectations people have of you as well as the expectations i laid out for myself.
welcome to the real world :)
mistaken identity
something happened that was rather hilarious in a certain sense. but beneath it, i gleamed what stuff that i never thought of. needless to say, i was rather disappointed.
but forget it.
~
thought about stuff quite abit last night. decided i shouldnt brood too much over the matters of the heart and concentrate on the current priorities of life now.
But somewhere at the bottom of my heart i hope that @ realises. but till then.
~
and i guess i failed it again. yes, chem, its that sian-ed feeling and all, knowing that u 'know' how to do the damn thing but just couldnt think of it then. guess i didnt study enough then.
well on a more positive note econs still look rather bright with rather satisfying results. but knowing that i didnt really know the content and was just smoking half the content in it... thats not a gd feeling.
and maths. well i was asking for it, that kinda marks. really ought to start learning that segment of the maths syllabus of calculus or i'm just gonna wholly suck at it. 5/25 like -.- yes well on the plus side we're doing P n C and probability which is kinda a breeze compared to the nightmares of calculus. so there.
bottomline. yes hell i need to study much. much more.
and yea, there's a certain kinda pressure for me to do well for MBTs. but then again. it doesnt beat the pressure i'm placing on myself. so that kind of a good thing i guess?
nevertheless, try adding more pressure (abeit lesser in force) on a fraying string and it'll snap. i guess?
but then again. who knows? this string might prove to be more elastic than you think after all.
http://mollymeek.livejournal.com/
i'm a fully converted fan.
big time.
nadir
.
thought of a lot of stuff. but just didnt feel right writing it down. maybe i'm finally realising how much i'm letting on in the blog. too much to be good. ought to quieten down abit.
bottomline: the high is over.
i guess it's a cycle.
with the highest comes the lowest.
pyouth today wasnt exactly exciting at all to me. i think it's gotta do with my mood for the day.
felt absolutely irked at the idea of playing random stuff in front of other people. which some people seem to have no problem doing. i want to, too. but past experiences tell me not to do that.
who doesnt want to play his music with absolutely no regard of what people thinks of him at the point? but sadly i cant. i care too much abt what people think i realise.
~
argh.
rambling abt nothings again.
anyway.
figured i ought to do that daily update thing abt sat since i missed it ytd.
saturday was pretty usually in the early part of the day. with TM and YO and stuff..
went to esplanade after that to take alook at 1812 and hindermeth again and the stupid librarian dint allow me to listen to the hindermeth cd. which sorta dampened my mood.. studied abt aft that and stuff.
(and freaking hell. so many familiar faces at marina sq)
right. realise sometimes i seriously talk too much and don't allow others much of a talking chance. usually i take note of that in the beginning and pace myself.. but end up getting carried away and talking non-stop. really pisses myself off when i do that.. -.-
must change that.
~
right. back to today
~
reh of marimba spiritual today at laselle was pretty cool. we played the piece at entirety and it was awesome :D now that we have a conductor :)
followed by jamming session after that.. hahah awesome techno and hell it's DAMN FUN.
we have:
the drums - by one of the pop drummers who alternated with the tradition drumsets to african drums -.-
the keyboard - awesome work at the chords by the "conductor". seriously wtf learned quite a bit from him.
the bass - in the form of the sexy marimba...
and the lil' thingys haha - chimes, cymbals, bells, xylo, vibes. all the random stuff.
together : DAMN FREAKING AWESOME TECHNO hahaha
gosh.
ok the thought of it lightened my mood considerably.
right .
chem test tmr. studystudystudy~
and omg.
mr lau's mp3 ftw~ LOL
Hi
I recently begun to visit the library@esplanade due to positive comments about the place from my friends as it allows the public to listen to its visual/audio media in the premises of the library in a comfortable environment.
However, when i went to the library today and requested the librarian to unlock the CD case after i selected a cd that i wanted to listen to in the premises of the library, she stated that I was not allowed to listen to the CD. The reasons she gave was that, it was not a reference material and hence only premium members are allowed to listen to the CD.
What i do not understand is that while people are allowed to listen to the reference CDs in the premises of the library, the library does allow people to listen to normal audio CDs within the premises of the library. While I understand that being a premium member allows you the privilege of borrowing such audio CDs home, I cannot fathom why people who do not apply for the premium membership are denied of making use of media within the premises of a public library. In a sense, isn't this tantamount to denying the basic right of the public to access ( not borrowing out of the library, just purely within the library ) the information in the library.
If I would draw this example to another item bounded by similar "premium membership privileges", it is to my knowledge that only premium members are allowed to borrow music scores out of the premises of the library. Regardless, the library allows patrons of the library to browse the scores within the premises of the library at their leisure. However, if i apply the situation with the audio CDs to the scores, wouldnt it imply that only premium members are allowed to touch the music scores while the basic members of the library are denied access to this materials.
If I am not mistaken, this changes only took effect with the implementation of the CD lock system. In the past, patrons of the library are allowed to listen to this CDs as long as they are within the premises of the library at the stipulated audio booths. Hence, why has public access to this CDs been denied with the introduction of these locks?
I refer to the NLB mission of providing an accessible library to promote a knowledgeable society. May I ask, how is this possible if such a simple and basic right to allow a patron of the library, a member of society, access to certain items of the library is denied, even if it is done within the library and not out of its premises?
I await the reply to this matter. Thank you for taking the time to read through my feedback.
Best Regards,
*****
~~~~~

i was feeling rather anal cause it was the only recording of hindermeth available in the library and i couldnt listen to it cause of some stupid inflexible guidelines of the library. actually wanted to continue about their lack of transparency regarding informing users of library guidelines but figured thats abit too much in one letter. so yea.. lets hope they reply soon or god knows where this might get sent to. ( the sg press is a gd source to air your grievances. include stomp and other online forums and voila. public uproar. )

then again there might not be.

oh well.

something that struck me.

It is good manners to give up a seat on the public transport for the elderly.

everyone knows that.

It is also good manners for the elderly to give a small word of thanks, or even a smile for the good samaritan who offered him/her the seat.

but does anybody realise that?

While everyone is harping on how youths don't give up seats for the elderly; of the degeneration of youth in the society to become moral scumbags, has anyone taken notice of the people for actually DO give up their seats for the elderly and receive a stony stare in return, or even sometimes a grumble for not giving up the seat early enough.

it's amazing isnt it? yes we shouldnt do such things for other people just for that word of thanks. but don't you think it's only right for the person on the receiving end of the good deed to show some gratitude.

sadly. they don't focus on that, but on the oh-so-horrible youths of our nation. well, just one comment though, the adults arent any better. Faking sleep, looking particularly busy, wholly 'engrossed' in a book, happening to be staring all the time somewhere else.. been there, done that. set some examples you adults before shooting your mouth of at the youths for doing what you guys have been doing all the while..

~

whats with me, i'm feeling so bit*hy -.-

happy happy!!!

seriously i think its because of the darn exam that i was feeling so pressured the last few days..considering that i have that chem test in 3 days.. i don't feel like that pressured. ok i think thats a bad thing.... (studystudy)

anyway.

lets see..

pe was kinda sucky today.. i forgot to bring TOWEL ARGH... cuz as u see i always bathe after fri's PE cause it's a long day and yea... dunwanna stink.. so anyway.. ended up nvr bathe :(

ok i'm harping over nthg... sheesh.

right nxt up.

ok nothing significant for the rest of the day until band... oh wait YES ALVL RESULTS!!

haha

ok somehow i shouldnt be that hyped up since i don't take Chinese anyway.. ( next yr.. ZOMG)

but either way, we had to watch this live telecast of the principals talk and the prize giving bit... well seriously i don't mind doing such a thing... cuz you know.. soak up the atmosphere and stuf... now try that without audio... its 'amazing..

how the teachers would somehow have ran thru checks on the video coverage of LIVE telecast somemore on this big day; everything's perfect for the j2s to watch the 'show' ... and then convenient forgot abt checking the audio.. so we basically watched the whole telecast without sound... well maybe they did their audio checks already... in that case... damn the stupid murphy's law haha... manifested itself during our PW WR submission day.. and now it appears again during alvl results day..
morale of story: murphy never fails to appear at the impt bits of life.

right anyway band.

perc tutor came to do some sectionals with us. really good stuff.

hahah.. from yst one...

learnt quite abit.. hah.
nuff' said.. (deleted one chunk of text that i found not apt to place here.. so yea -.-)

right. thats basically it.

er.
yea
oh
being with @ makes me happy :)

~

schedule for wk end:

sat morning : TM
sat afternoon: YO reh

sun morning: laselle
sun afternoon: pyouth.

right so nights are for studying !!!

wa sian. cant go out to study liao.. unless i can study out at nights.. hahah~

being out draws me away from the 4sided screen with the chunk of hardware known as the computer. and of course the occasional craving to play dota since my bro does that everytime he comes back from army... ahhh control control!!

and i cant go back to my sec sch to help them for their syf :(

wanted to ... sigh.. okay nvm will find some time.

right TM at 845 tmr!! SLEEP AR!!!!

2nd flr toilets closer to library

i feel strangely high again..

maybe its the partial load lifted off my back. of making my way through the day without worrying i havent practiced enough for my exam.

but then again. i ought to take this opportunity to work my fundementals all over again. ought to gun for some improvement once more. learn some new reportoire and stuff.

right. day was fine.. er.

yea.

YO reh as usual, was fab.

i think playing beethoven, or for that matter, playing orchestral music really sets one free, much MUCH more than of a wind ensemble. cause the strings.. that cloud of music.. extremly difficult for a windensemble to replicate. wind ensembles have their own qualities, that of wholeness, while orchestral.. the transpareny yet piercing tones that strikes a chord with ur heart. oh golly.

anyway do come for the 18mar concert guys!!! its gonna be an awesome one!! at $5 only :D

right.

pretty sad case to see only one perc j1 come for individuals today..

hai..

hope tmr will be gd.

alright.

ciao :D

(oh in case u're wondering wassup with the title... keep guessing :) )

Wednesday, March 4, 2009

Yay.

Its overrr~

finally hahaha

alright

breakdown of exam:

Scales : one minor mishit. (reckoned i scored for this)
Exam pieces: Mallet piece was a blast! seriously hahaha i think i just scored a sliver away from a perfect score for it.. (yea i mishit a note) but the examiner actually said she enjoyed it very much!!! (FYI, examiners usually give that *serious nod and stuff)

the 2snare pieces were.. okayyy... shld do fine for them.

Sightreading: epic failure... i think i'll fail this component :( dont wanna mention it.. damn disappointing.
Aural: Singing was.. as expected off-key.. hahah luckily the intervals and modulations was down neatly hahah got such a nice interval. ahaha 4-5-1 :D
and i got a contemporary jazz piece to comment on!!! reckoned i did ok with that hahah...

so a rough estimate.

Scales 19/21
Exam 28 :) 25 25 /30
Sightreading: 10/21
Aural: 12/18

Verdict: 119/150 A PASS!!! (1 mark shy of a merit damn)

but then again. thats a low estimate hahah so i'm hoping for the best :D

(distinction c'mon distinction!!) -okay at least a merit :)

but then again, sometimes what u expect might not be what u get so i'll keep my fingers crossed till then...

AWESOME SHIT

D - Day in 16hrs

right. back from sound check session with bert at the examination venue..

AH SHIT!

1 FREAKING DAY TO ABRSM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dammit...

hell if i'm not nervous..

and yes. sacrifice.. sorry no GP essay chionging Chem tut mugging Econs memory work or maths madness tonight..

its all about homophonic melody lines.. the contrapuntal melody. the freaking paraflams and SIGHT SINGING!

gahh...

alright.

u know how frustrating it is to know something has to be done and just not being able to do it?

Mr G was talking to me abt how i ought to practice alot more of those differentiation integration qns cuz i'm absolutely horrible at these topics...

yea, i can totally see his point of view.. its not that i don't want to.. find me time to do more maths questions without sacrificing my other subjs which i'm already desperately trying my best to keep up with these coupa of wks.

well on the plus side the horrors are over and the following topics of P n C and probability are pretty smooth sailing ones... i'm almost finishing the probablity tutorial and halfway thru the P n C tutorial alr :D FYI the probability lecture hasnt even finished yet hahah..

2 less homework to worry about in the near future hah..

right. off to look deep into the ABRSM syllabus to spot any holes i missed out.. and do some last minute work on my singing.. -.- (aural ftw~)

oh.

on @: send me a sign. any sign.

kk ciao :)

sacrifice

Carbonyl Tutorial - done
Carboxylic Tutorial
Lit essay
Differential Eqn Tutorial
Study for Econs CE tmr - done

as u can well see, havent done half the things i ought to do tonight.

even after giving up going with exco to check out the band shirts :(
(sorry i just had to protect at least one night this week purely devoted to catching up with work)

sheesh.

well on the brighter side, there's a few golden hrs left before sleep beckons, maybe i can squeeze in some stuff before i sleep.

but then again, one cant hope to finish everything with the limited time.

hence the age-old mantra : prioritize

now the question lies in which to forgo.

the nights ahead:

tues night - Sound check at jurong green cc for exam the next afternoon
weds night - Possible marimba spiritual reh
thurs night - YO reh
fri night - band :)

and the wkends:

sat morning : TM
sat noon : YO reh
sat night : marimba spiritual reh
sun noon : pyouth reh

after every seemingly depressing moment, i have to attempt to make things brighter.

at least i find my current hectic pace oddly satisfying and fulfilling. isnt that what life is about? living it to the fullest? and it would force me to pick up proper time management habits.

oh peiyu's marimba spiritual exam lies on the exact same day as the syf soundcheck !!!!

dammit.

but she's trying to request for a change of date. ( seriously feel damn bad for causing her that inconvenience. must really practice hard and make it perfect for her )

alright.

time to get back to work. considering that i usually arrive home around this time or a little later, i'd consider this a rather productive night of work.

so there.

(oh oh, there was another rainbow today! conclude: rainbows have a positive effect on my concluding mood of the day)
:D

- now thatt i feel way different from the beginning of my post.. i ought to change the title.... -.-

and alas;
DAYS TO ABRSM EXAM : 2 DAYS

dammit.

the fraying string

try staying out on nights and only reaching home at after 10 everyday.

try rushing from places to places after school and skipping meals just not to be late.

try sleeping only 5hrs a day for the past 3wks, even during the wkends, not because you don't want to, but u haven't a choice.

yes i know i choosed this path. i will live with it. i'm just exhausted. thats all.

so don't start thinking how i'm over reacting and just being dramatic about this kinda shit i'm going thru now

you have no idea.

fear

chinks were made

cracks are appearing on the veneer i had.

the show of confidence and astuteness. and that readiness to face the world and its challenges.

~

yes i'm disappointed with myself. of the failure to even sightread properly.

~

yes this shell's cracking.

blows from all directions. in more ways u can think.

and of more to come. in due time.

music, studies, friends, @. at least family isnt among the list, that i can be happy for.

of the wk ahead. and the following 2 wks after.

it's been a while since a long time;

i fear .

chicken little

TM session today was interesting.

taught some "self-help" stuff by external instructor. in case u guys don't know. i9'm a big fan of such stuff so this lesson was an eye opener.. so much so that i actually bought the book she was advertising. gd stuff the bk is :D
stuff she taught:

psychology and harmony of colours.
dressing
face shapes
personality types

interesting stuff... nxt wk would be more interesting i think.. i feel it.. :D

alright. anyway kena detoured back to sengkang with jarvis cuz he dragged me onto the bus to sengkang -.-

ended up lunching at compass pt alone -_-

well on the plus side. i bought a 1.5l mineral water bottle for 80c :D

hahah right. anyway went to esplanade to listen/familiarise myself with 1812 and metamorphoses. and hell lucky i did so.. 2 freaking big works. proven after i heard it.. hands itchy for mar28 to arrive so i can try it out at reh.

tough stuff at the timps side though. 14 notes to change. pretty much for me, since the only other timps part that has close to that number of notes was rosa.. which was like half the number of notes hahaha -.-

oh i was supposed to study my carbonyl there... but hindemeth was simply too fascinating so yea...... nvm shall do it in awhile..

yep so anyway got so high over the piece that i called lj to come down earlier to listen to the piece hahaha :D

saw chris there too pondering over some other conductor scores hahah chitchat-ed abit bout life/music and all.. yeph ahah

right. zhao to plocks dinner with lj

yep the usual pepper lunch whee~

hahah and then ..

er.

chicken lil for joshie. (a.k.a kenneth)

and er.

isutra on FI's PHONE!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH

okay.. i'm resorting to narrating cuz i lost that drive to blog again abt today's events zzz...

alright. marimba spiritual reh tmr followed by resume of p.youth!! whee~ hahahahah

oh yes. remind myself to do that essay tmr night -.-

kciao!
