the week's packing up with stuff to do.

more people finishing alvls = more stuff happening

but most imptly, must must find time to hang out with my sec sch group of friends. it's been ages. seriously.

so, to jomel, "!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" hahahahahah (as the girl of the group, you're the unofficial organiser) :D
nice. i found a job.
pyouth practice ah.

nothing much about the practice itself, more abt the after practice. reg and pohyih have their alvls on mon so couldnt join us for dinner. fee had cheer prac and lj had pwinds concert coming up so yeah.

met the new member david. ho.

yes. he has the same surname as me. and his english name just happens to be my dad's name.. oh gosh.. right anyway. there was some rambling about his mail being j_d_p_, and it so happened his brother was johnathan ( i think ) and he was david. so naturally we thought his younger sis was pauline or pamela or something like that. turns out it was amanda.

pamanda :)

right anyway kow's got an internship at SPH where he does absolutely cool stuff on razortv like interviewing twilight fanatics After receiving complimentary tickets to the gala premiere of NewMoon as a journalist. oh and traipsing around Singapore in cab with a cameramen in tow to video his live interviews...

oh and he gets $50 plus a day. plus overtime..

and here i am looking for a job that pays more than $6 an hr..

yes kow, i'm envious hahaha. do remember to paste me the link when you're done with that Razortv vid.

alright. the physics people are finishing their papers tmr, here's wishing them all the best for their final paper!

and so there.

another week of ___________________

went to cp with wr in the aftn to chat. much to catch up with.

and then headed to rvrvale plaza macs last night around 11 plus with jy to chat. too..

hahah i like the idea of just chilling outta house late at night yeah.

pyouth resumes today. kinda mixed feelings and all. we'll see

till then, then.

went out with jannah to tour the freaking city known as Singapore = randomly walking around where getting lost is the whole point of the journey

with this in mind, a theory was established : The direction in which one is to walk is where the wind blows from.

Turns out to be right most of the time. Here's what happened

Chinatown

-China Sq
-Hong Lim Complex

Tanjong Pagar

-Reddot museum
-Pinnacle

Bugis

-Haji Lane
-Bali Lane
-NLB
-Bras Brasah complex ( Cat Socrates )
-Armenian Church

Singapore River

Clarke Quay

-Central

Was supposed to head to Katong for the night but something cropped up at home for jannah so she had to go home.. damn was craving katong laksa and was looking forward to seeing katong at night....

lots of things to say but it's sort of all on facebook so have fun looking :)

oh. we saw patricia mok. she had straightened hair.. lol

right. okay maybe i'll do a long post on it tmr but not today.

anyway, walking around aimlessly with no goal in mind absolutely rocks mind you :)

party at aldrick's tmr. fantastic
i want.

someone tell me if there's anywhere in Sg that sells this. if it's not in pink it's even better.

so yeah.

i want i want!

Beryl's

It was chocolate, chocolate that at absolutely 0% sugar.

yet it was the sweetest chocolate. ever.

watching her face crinkling into a smile as she gingerly took a bite of the small piece of chocolate.

-

went to visit her at the hospital today, heard from my aunt that she wasnt eating and she wanted mashed potatoes. was almost there already. thank goodness the shopping mall around the corner had kfc. the joy of watching her eat from the small red-white plastic container with appetite.

told her i'm going to buy Popeye's mashed potatoes for her tmr. I'm sure she'll like it very much. Gonna head down to the Sg flyer outlet before heading there, hope i'll reach there before it gets cold.

her legs are swollen from water retention.

i wanted to massage her pain away, kneading away her discomfort, be by her side till she slept, but visiting hours were over.

now i knew how my dad felt every night when he had to leave the hospital.

we ate our dinner in silence on the way home.

Freedom Day 1:

the title speaks for itself :)

ciao!
its over!!!!!

!!!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

!!!!

right.

woohoo~

yes. 12 years of the education system finally finished and about to enter the service for 2 years before (hopefully) getting a place in the uni, preferably my desired course thx.

had a barbeque with the class in celebration of Alevels being finally over, except for wx, wes and nis for have their h1 physics and h1 bio papers.... :) haha aww. alright good luck to you all too!!

BBQ Wholesale. owns.

period.

i'm serious. the stingray and sotong, and PRAWNS are to die for. totally.

prior to that, after coming back from whitesands shopping for the barbeque stuff and all, headed to the gym with joel at jan's place. the gym was actually pretty small, but 1 freaking machine was all it took. there was so many contraptions and all to work out every single nanometres of muscle on your body its amazing.

but the gym-machine phobe obviously doesnt have a foggy idea on how to use the darn machine. thank god for joel hahaha.

yes i'm gonna hit the freaking gym at least once a week!!

ah drats, jan's flying away to taiwan for 10 days, so prolly wont be able to use the gym at his condo... shall hunt for alternatives ... -_-

right anyway, headed to swim after that.

moment of epiphany came when joel let out an epic scream while attempting to swim in a speed burst. and i thought it was because his shorts came off or something (his didnt have a drawstring on it and law of inertia tells you that swimming quickly forward simply displaces the immovable object, your shorts, behind). well turns out his leg muscle cramped in a most excruciating pain possible i guess, which explains the auditory output. lugged him to the side, and freak he's heavy. in a really good way cause pretty much of it is muscle... argh. (envious)

oh. the moment of epiphany? muscle cramps are Really painful.. yeah...

ah yes yes. and the steam room at the gents was awesome. i mean sauna still owns but hell the steaming room's kinda cool. Never been in a steam room before so yep it's an experience. Our sight was seriously fogged in the room from the steam while we chilled.. okay 'chill' prolly aint a good word here since the temperature isnt exactly.. 'chill'.. yea...

Me: Eh cannot fall asleep sia, i have this morbid fear later we die in the steam how..
J: yeah, it's damn foggy ah..
Me: yea sia, cant freaking see anything.. oh can, got the 2 lights on the ceiling..
J: yeahyeah, if suddenly cant see light means must chiong out already... or if you suddenly see one bright light shining from above....

*silence*

Me: -_-

bbq after that. was all fun and all until some deranged woman from the condo shouted stuff down from her balcony.. only caught the last words, sometime to do with us being bastards and all.. oh well. i guess we were kinda noisy... but it was like only... 10? (okay on second thoughts it's kinda late for old *ahem hags like the lady there who prolly sleeps at 830pm, kniting shawls with her woollen needle on her rocking chair before curling up with her 50000 felines and calling it a night)

some of the guys wanted to head out and drink but decided not to cause i was kinda shagged from the day.

the arduous chem mcq (hell it's kinda difficult)
working out at the gym
swimming after that
bbq

yea. prolly a great time to curl up in front of the computer instead at home :)

alright.

there.

post alvels, here i come! :D

breaking free

imagine my shock when i saw the photo i took of the sidegate on the fb fanpage.

went something like:

*saw the picture

Daniel: waitt... that looks familiar....

Daniel: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yea.

ah well, it's so glorifying and self-satisfying to see people commenting how the picture owns. HAHAHAHAH. that, i'm happy enough :)

bbq later after chem. woo~

4hours to LIBERATION!!!!!!!!!!

Sunday, November 22, 2009

i know i shouldnt be saying this:

but Daniel is bored stiff.

yesiknowihaveapapertmrandishouldbefreakingstudying.

oh aight i guess i should mention this. Sunday Times had this article about how our education ministry is looking into measures to teach Chinese through English. I know it's all proclaiming the benefits of how Chinese is going to be made easier to learn and oh my, kids are gonna lovvveee chinese and all.. but doesnt it sound remarkably similar to how the Chinese over at China are teaching their students English?

the result?

Grammatically flawless English ( trust me, i know. ), but whole sentences never ranging beyond textbook structures of Subject, Verbs and Nouns.

at least, for the majority of them.

I'm not a fan of the chinese language or anything, but i just find the idea of warping the system to that of a 3rd language teaching system way (that's how i was taught malay in sec sch, in english) kind of damaging to the whole language thing yeah?

will it really work?

ah well.

anyhow, shall try to get my ass going to do up some mcqs in prep for the paper tmr.

My. Last. Freaking. Paper :D

move, Daniel, move!!!!

Friday, November 20, 2009

ah yes

one LAST PAPER ON MONDAY!!!!

anyway. the irony.

every single time my dad decides not to fetch me, either to or fro from school, it rains. heavily.

today is one example where i was just bleeding in the sheer irony. i wanted to go to school early. but i decided to head opposite to eat lunch. was eating lunch when it started to drizzle.

"lucky never go school or not got drizzle"

and so i went home. rain subsided.

left the house for school.
the minute i reached the lift landing, insiduous irony strikes.

there goes my econs notes.

not that i need it anymore cause ECONS IS OVER!!!!! :D

right.
anyway

some random pictures.

i accidentally bumped into it on my way home.. lol

i found this scene before my particularly calming, don't ask where i snapped the picture from..

the virgin hall experience!!

and the best for the last, mj's latest invention (thank god i'm leaving already.)

the ingeniosity of the whole thing is clearly seen...

there.

and my sec sch conductor is leaving the sch band :(

dang.

bleach.

i've always been slow at catching shows and stuff. but this is really a record.

BLEACH!!!!

200more episodes for me before i catch up with everybody else..

nicely coincides with the end of Alvls!! haha..

now you know what i'm gonna do if i run out of pocket money, or mysteriously reject all 'jio's out.

BLEACHHHH AHAHAHAHAHAH.

okay. and then there's some taiwan dramas to catch up on.

and gosh i think i better start listing down the stuff to do after alvls. (i must be like the last j2 to do this. a few of them i know have already booked their flight tickets already...)

(in no other of importance cause i'm just listing whatever comes to my mind)

- get a job. or jobs.
- PRACTICE! ( i am SO rusty i swear cobwebs are gathering on my arm wrist joints, oh yes, that reminds me, i need to go and dig out my bag of sticks.. )
- PRACTICE!
- PRACTICE! (like mad)
- emm. hang out with friends which i really ought to be doing after being a hermit, or rather, disappearing off the face of earth during Alevels.
- Lorong Buangkok. :)
- Kite flying!
- Seafood!
- er er. pulau Ubin?!
- Marina barrage?
- etc.etc
- foodie spree!
- work out like mad
- swim! ( i havent been swimming since forever )
- yes of course bleachbleachbleach
- and hopefully get all this done before the nation calls for me on 5th of feb next year.... T.T

right.

in the meantime.

you-know-what.

my virgin experience :)

its was hot. so hot...

i was wet.

there were many people.

all legal.

yessss :)

lets put that in proper terms before some dude on the blogger net reports this

my virgin hall experience...

the aircon wasnt really on, it's freaking hot. which is something since i had on that thick hoodie i brought to japan..

and yes there were much more people then the usual classroom i was in for alevels..

and duh they're all legal, oh wait. okay maybe not.

haha.

yea as you see. i'm one of the few for got squeezed out of the hall due to insufficient seats. so my class and another class end up in the classrooms... so left out.. :( not that i'm complaining though. we get our papers collected faster. way faster. and hence the virgin experience in hall today since literature in english.. only about 70 of us take it. i think. yeah.

okay i'm rambling.

chem paper 2 was... _________ fill in the blanks. no word for it..
lit was. _____________ as well.

really. this spate of alevels. really got nothing to say.

we'll just see the results shall we..praypraypray...

Econs. tmr.

6days!! 6days!! wait no 5.

wait no. shit only a few days after maths paper and i cant count already...

and sm appears to be hooked onto shane dawson too. hahahahaha..

his channel rocks la.

Monday, November 16, 2009

Please, please give her strength to pull through. Please.

Sunday, November 15, 2009

totally agrees with evonne on shane dawson's channel

(same refrain: no adults above 21, and prolly no children below 16, just in case)

owns.

yeah, it's hilariously, FREAKING funny and all, borderlining on being bimbotic-ally dumb butbutbutbut it does have its salient points.

plus the dude really has a wicked sense of humour you gotta admit.

And he's classier the peter chow. no offence. (peter chow's good, too)
(if you don't know who peter chow is, check out his channel on youtube, you'll get my point.)
fantastic.

Ferggedaboudit

my new favourite word from the Sunday Times. followed by whatchamacallit. i love how modern english writers scrunch up words together which just makes you want mouth it out to get the feel of the word..

and of course there's sonafabit*h. which, yeah.

write anyway, to Fiona Chan writing the article bout the most annoying words,
"I Feel You!!!, I Feel You!!!!!!!" says the author.

let me make my point.

(extracted from article)

On the word anything:

Indecisive people say it to lure you into a false sense of agreeability, and then they slowly kill you with frustration.
This is how it goes:
Me: "What do you want to eat for dinner?"
Indecisive Person: "Anything."
Me: "Okay. Thai Food?"
IP: "Uh.. I don't really feel like Thai."
Me: "Japanese food?"
IP: "No I had Japanese for lunch"
Me: "How bout French food?"
ID, who by now is proving to be irritatingly decisive: "Yuck, I hate French food"
Me, on the verge of death by exasperation, "Then what do you want to eat?"
ID: "Oh anything, up to you."

-

you know how the article just rings out to me. Like, it calls out to all those like minded people around the world who feel ready to asphyxiate those buggers who say that?

but then again, i'm guilty myself for using these really noncommittant words now and then. it's just. convenient.

oh yes, and then there's this other phrase: "dont know"

..

a word of advice to the likeminded souls?

Just live with it.

*head slumps in realisation of the oh-ah-so-whatchamacallit-feeling-that-can-best-be-expressed-in-a-four-letter-word

"Argh."

:)

Oh, give me strength to move on to macroeconomics revision. And. get started actually looking through any, Any bit of my h1 literature syllabus...

Saturday, November 14, 2009

seems like the auntie at the kopitiam opposite my house is starting to recognise me after frequent visits there to tuck into the fabulous 'Wine-Sauteed Chicken Noodles'. (okay, i glamorised the name abit, but yeah it's nice okay!)

"The usuals ah?"

"yah yah"

"Hows your exams ah? how many more papers left?"

ah yes even the auntie is talking bout the exams.. ah

1 more week!!!!!

now.

studystudystudy!

and.

i'm starting to freak out at the inadequacy of my preparation for my H1 Lit...

ciao.
after aeons (3days), i'm back! haha.

ok so the verdict:

No More GP For the REST OF MY LIFE!!! (that is unless i take up an arts degree in uni.)

NO MORE MATHS!!! (Hell i'm not going to take a maths degree. Definitely)

Chem's 1/3 down.

Papers left: Econs. Chem P1 and 2 and oh of course. Lit. ugh

will update more by the next week. so in the meantime. prolly i dry spate, i guess :)

Wednesday, November 11, 2009

my 700th post. and it's interesting i'm gonna be doing so in the midst of my Alevels, busting something i find very irritating.

http://biznews7.org/

this link came up a couple of times on many facebook pages and it finally came onto mine. when to look it up. apparently it had all this easy google profit stuff going on. bout how people are earning ($200!) WOW just by posting ads and all.. even had a comments page with many comments by people on how good it sounds. a few supposed skeptics. stuff like that

sounds good. but too good.

so i went digging around the net and here's what i found.

http://www.whydowork.com/forums/easy-google-profits-scam-t23947.html

which really got me pissed on the elaborate techniques that scammers use nowadays.

argh..
wow. i mean. wow.

was doing a little reading online via dear Google.

check this out.

William Safire's 1999 essay

http://www.singapore-window.org/sw99/90215nyt.htm

and William Gibson's Disneyland with a Death Penalty in 1993

http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/1.04/gibson.html

to think these articles were actually written back then.

wow. really wow.

dont mention that 2 letters to me

my hands failed me again. and apparently there's a cog loose in my head.

why the hell did i choose that qn.

chem tmr.

blah.

and.

i'm freaking tired.

things ain looking that bad. but then again. with all the bell-curve shit.. oh well.

GP next..

as quoted from jom's blog, if only writing GP essays were as easy as writing on this blog...

come come, Auntie Molly and Uncle Toby, tell me what i should do to score well for GP..

Style, language, structure..

GP oh GP.
wherefore art thou
GP oh GP.
wherefore art thou.

(*repeats a hundred times and hope it'll come knocking on my head)

oh and for all the H2 Math people who are STILL READING MY BLOG, kudo's to you, here's a jewel.

cheers!
i think there's a rule somewhere in that Alvl booklet on exam rules and regulations that i'm supposed to read (which i haven't) that doesnt' allow me to talk bout the questions on my exams.

so yeah.

2 and half hours to my maths paper.

if i could scream out onto this blog, i would. (*imagines every single one of you being blown away by my bloodcurling shit-i'm-gonna-die scream if you had your speakers on at the moment)

so there.

3

Gawd. i'm 3days away from my Maths paper. and i'm still conveniently skipping complex number questions to do the other questions in the TYS

(i swear i'm gonna master complex numbers by today)

guess i won't be updating for awhile till bout next week? Tis gonna be a mad rush till then.

To all those people studying for Alvls STILL reading the blog, BEST OF LUCK FOR THE BIG FRIGGING ALEVELS!!!!!!!

yesterday was a really emotional day at the study benches. After studying at the same spot for the past 2 weeks, we really felt attached to the place.

So many tearful farewells to the beloved fan which provided us with much needed wind, the benches who lovingly allowed us to sit on them, and of course the walls which we lay our heads on in despair when all seems so dysmal.... (yes we were all like that before we left the place.. the things Alevels do to your head.. oh my..)

Right. Just finished filling up an application for more volunteering projects after alevels. Also must start getting those job applications done.. i Have to find a way to live till Feb without acting like a hermit crab and stay at home all day owing to the fact of me myself and moi being penniless. yes, the traditional atm in the family has decided to wean me off the dependence on him for money. ah. oh well.

And.

i was particularly touched by a certain good friend's post. :)

Till then, then.

To infinity and beyond...... (where infinity converges upon a constant k where k is a real number)

Thursday, November 5, 2009

18days

my posts are likely to get less verbose as i'm simply too tired to really update much. maybe after the alevels in 3wks.

anyway, studying in school has become such a routine, we went bonkers doing countless of maths papers (mathematics happens to be our first paper)

and hence, purely random concepts like the GC phone came up. GC (Graphic calculator)

the plan basically was to walk into the study room where everyone's mugging away, someone calls you on your cell, you whip out your GC to 'answer' the phone as if it's the most normal thing in the world.. something like Just for Laughs Gags. perfect. we were rolling away in laughter for a near 5minutes thinking of the hilarity that will ensue..

but of course there's the problem of finding someone insanely crazy enough to do it.. (i, of course, was nominated)

ah well. slightly over the top i may seem (er-hem), but definitely not THAT gutsy.

uhuh.

right.

and as if it isnt like the most common feeling amongst us all.
i feel stone dead-tired.

Tuesday, November 3, 2009

POOPED

try doing 2 maths papers, 1 chem p3 or 1 chem p1p2 a day, read economics on your journies to and fro from home, revise literature while taking a break, and going through GP before you sleep at night.

if there's an energy bar like in that cute pokemon game, i'd be hovering dangerously close to zero, that little blimp at the end, often mistaken to be a speck of dust on the gameboy screen..

oh wait, what energy?

yes i'm freaking pooped omg. seriously Alevels. Time of my life.

but somehow, the mad fervour of rushing for a goal, the idea of a final aim that you want to achieve, it's really something that i have lost touch with for awhile. it feels sadistically, painfully, sickeningly. good.

but i know i'm gonna enjoy the aftermath more.

Moderation is a virtue only in those who are thought to have an alternative.
-Henry Kissinger
in this case, there is no alternative.

Mug your brains out, spartans!

There cannot be a crisis next week. My schedule is already full.

Sunday, November 1, 2009

oh if only school was as easy as it was then.

ah.

zany

i'm proud to say that integration has become a thing of the past. but a much more pressing problem would be complex numbers.

and.

i think i'm being overly ambitious on a weekend. the mind is not meant to be bulldozing through maths papers continuously.

hence. Time for chem papers -.- (oh gosh my life is really sad isn't it..)

TJ p3 here i come!!!

when life gives you lemons,

Cyanide and Happiness, a daily webcomic
Cyanide & Happiness @ Explosm.net

cheers.
SUCK THE FRIGGING LEMON AND SPIT IT AT THE IDIOT WHO GAVE YOU THE DAMN LEMON!!!!

hogwash

the idea of the top dogs all over the world coming to Singapore for the APEC summit kinda excites me.

(i know, the notion of alevels ought to excite me even more)

and why i'm blogging at such an unearthy hour, i have no idea.. i suddenly woke up with a compelling urge not to sleep. -.-

which is fast disappearing as this is the 6th time i'm correcting a spelling error..

alright just one last thing.
came up with the 'last week stretch' plan which involves really doing papers every living second of the day. which is fabulously draining. which really explains the state of stupor i'm in everytime i'm doing something else other than doing a timed paper.

hence i have no other time for any stray thoughts.

hence i should really focus

like really, daniel.

and daniel is beginning to mumble incoherently to himself. no, not as a metaphor for typing, but literally spouting gibberish from the head of his alimentary canal as he types.

which really hints to a fast delibilating mind which needs sleep.

like now.

till then, then
