3 big events TODAY

Society today stereotypes. Wait. Society stereotypes. Since the beginning of time. Youths r "uncouth", "ignorant", "apathetic", so on... But when they try to be proactive and bonded with youths, youths suddenly become "interactive" ,"vibrant, " energetic" blahblah.

So one fine morning. I boarded a bus of a certain bus company to get to school. My, they preach about them having a right to no abuse and a safe environment.. Those poor things... But what I see, uh uh, no such thing.

Ok so the bus was rather packed. Then the bus driver was saying, mockingly, "Please Move To The Back Of The Bus. I got alot of time, don't worry... ". so this might not make sense to you. but continue reading.

Then to the next stop. The Bus Driver says "Move in, you don't want to be late for school right? I got time you know."

so now you get it? oh and apparently, being a witness to the entire scene, students weren't the only ones who were blocking the passageway. But apparently people just have this tendency to pick on the young people for any mistakes or wrong doing made. Combined with a lousy attitude that obviously needs to be kept in check.

Some people say there is a rise of cyber warriors who shoot at other people in the guise of anonymity ( did i get it right? ) of the internet. But what else do you expect us to do. Go to the speakers corner and speak up? That would just classify us as even more ignorant people who have no respect .. so on and so forth... Oh well... rambling away..

Aniway.

2nd event.

Take things with a lot of salt. And don't take them to heart sometimes. ( you know what i mean)

'nuff said.

3rd event.

When logic defies instinct. What do you believe in? Think carefully before making an answer.. Maybe you wont get what i mean. But its ok..

Aniway. After thinking so much. And actually forming a mental composition of this post on my walk home. Bout all that intectual chimology...
I've decided to do away with it.

Not thinking bout it would be best. Just chill and groove to life. Dont trouble yourself with things that you know will make you lose sleep over. We live in a world of logic, sensiblity, reasoning and all that. Thinking on an astral plane or something like that will just confuse you even more.

maybe you dont agree. Thats ok. Thats just what i tink and what i decided to live by, if i hadn done so already.

Finally.

An enlightened man isnt a man possessed with all the knowledge in the world, but a man who is contented with what he has and already knows.

The greatest knowledge of all is not in volumes, but in the understanding of nothingness. Void. Emptiness.

Contradictory some may say.. But its ok.

Just dont think too much.

this sentence is contrdictory some may say.. But its ok.

Just dont think too much.

Thursday, March 20, 2008

These few days.. i seem to see through everyone.. As in.. before, i couldnt fathom what others were feeling or thinking. How they were reacting were just mere actions to me.

But now. I seem to know exactly how they feel, how they think, and even sometimes, what they intend to achieve by what they are currently doing, be it sucking up, flirting, making friends, and other stuff through how they act and speak. Or maybe they werent consciously doing it. Which means I am now also able to look into what they are doing that they dont even know what it means.

Just by a lil' read. My mind seemed to have been opened up, receptive to the signals that everyone sends out. I know.

I longed "this" for such a long time, the yearning to know what others think, and how to act on them favourably.

But Now.

Everything seems so artificial. When i act on them. Its no longer instinct. its FAKE. a FACADE. an UNTRUTH. Its sickening. I know what they are doing, be it good or bad. Possibly they don't know. But i know. But they should never know, for it will break their heart, and cost a dear friendship that i hold close. So i keep it in me. I form judgements. I feel different. I just KNOW. And I hate it.I cant erase what i know. I cant reverse this process.

Knowledge may not be a blessing, but a curse.

Innoncence on the other hand, may be bliss.

Some may say. It is better to have loved and lost then to never have loved at all. True, but if u had never loved at all. Would u have needed to suffer the pain of losing? You say its a process we must go thru. But why do some people never seem to have gone thru it and are perfectly happy. Should they not be? Do we have a right to judge whether one should love and lost or not to love at all?

Similarly, Knowledge VS innoncence. The pure innoncence of knowledge that beckons us from innoncence seeks to corrupt us eventually. And we once more long for the knowledge of innoncence. The void. The emptiness. The lack of sadness and untold truths.

I end off with this quote.

Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely
Knowledge corrupts. Absolute knowledge corrupts absolutely.

Ages ago, Alex, Allen and Alva arrived at Antibes, and Alva allowing all, allowing anyone, against Alex's admonition, against Allen's angry assertion: another African amusement . . . anyhow, as all argued, an awesome African army assembled and arduously advanced against an African anthill, assiduously annihilating ant after ant, and afterward, Alex astonishingly accuses Albert as also accepting Africa's antipodal ant annexation. - Alphabetical Africa...

cool or what? i wan to read the entire BOOK!!

Quotes...

continued... perverted ones.. that a certain friend send me... damn funny..

"Before becoming master fisherman, must be master baiter."

"Girl laid in tomb may soon become mummy"

Boy who goes to bed with sex problem wake up with solution in hand."

If you want pretty nurse, you got to be patient."

"Man who read woman like book, prefer braille!"

Man with hand in bush not necessarily trimming shrubs."

Like LOL rite...
heard this quote that somehow had this strange magnetism thatdrew me to it..

To see the world in a grain of sand,
And to see heaven in a wild flower.
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.

-William Blake

anyone care to explain the profundity of this quote? Just makes me think too much.. But about what? My thoughts are too jumbled to know..

Why do some people seem to be able to talk freely, without inhibitions? How I long to do so, but it would probably cost me my future, one way or the other.

Some speak freely to me, I wanted to do so in return, but i didn't. For I fear.

I want to express, but I am restricted, by myself, my Superego. My Id wants to release these feelings and secrets captive, but my superego holds me back.

I want. but i can't.

I want. but i didn't

Wants. Can't

Burning deep within me. Should i release these thoughts and feelings? Or should i play it safe, and keep it within me, corrupting myself in despair from within, from the agony of something I am but can never tell.

Secrets that lay deep. Hidden. Forever.

(gobbledock with Id and superego.. refer to freudian psychology..)

(gonna b abit of a rant. dun mind me.. )

scenario 1: Grandparents house; nice plate of fried fish chunks
Oh don't worry, i plucked all the bones.

scenario 2: Home; dory fish fillet purchased from NTUC. the type where u just fry, dip in mayo and eat.

scenario 3: Macdonalds; Fillet O fish (how'dya spell it..

scenario 4: etc.etc

scenario 345165879356768: blahblah

What do this scenario's have in common? Fish. Fishbones.

Now u'd b thinking.. o.O eh? fillet O fish?

Yes, fillet O fish.

These is the thing that irks me most. My greatest fear. My worst enemy. Fish BONES. No offense to fish lovers out there. Seriously, I love fish. As long as there are no bones.

To many, I'm the lucky type who happens to stumble across fish bones from any fish. (fillet.. -.-)

Oh well, im getting off track.. might as well go back to where it all started...

Apparently, when I was 4, I had a maid then and she cooked fish porrigde for me to eat. All nice and dandy. Except she forgottent to debone the fish. So there I was happily being fed the spiked fish porridge (no pun intended).
Then i started crying. Then my parents saw the fish bones in the porridge. And then there they were trying to induce me to cough out the fish bones in my throat. Lady Luck was by my side( as it would many years to come in the "spotting" of fish bones ) and i spat out the fishbones after much sweat, from my parents, and tears, from me.

So since then, I had always been the lucky one. Fish bones abound in every fish i ate. How delightful.

Seriously, I think that instead of being lucky, it is most porbably because since that incident when i was 4, i developed a very cautious and slow eating habit when it comes to fish, so that even the tinniest bit of bone I am able to spot while countless other people simply swallow unknowingly.

I don't call it a blessing. Ok. maybe the bit about picking out the tinniest bit of fishbone and maybe reducing the one in a million chance of choking on a 7mm long fishbone. But the agony of having to, unvoluntarily, sieve through the fish in my mouth to search for a bone? Pure torture.

Damn i hate fish bones.

I was taking the bus on way home today. Saw something that once again launched me into deep-thought state again. There was this mentally challenged child; roughly bout 10-14 in age, and he was listening to his mp3 on the bus. Aside from his unnatural actions, which no one really cared about, he started singing from his mp3. It didnt really sound good, and I guess he had no knowledge of it. So people in the bus were all secretly chuckling away within themselves and I am sorry to say that I was one of them. As it was a very long journy, say 20min? ( tampines-sengkang via TPE ), it was getting pretty unnerving, and 2 guys from a technical institute who were sitting infront started to give he looks of mocking and actually openly laughed at him.

"Bye." he said to the lady beside himwhen he reached his destination and the kindly matron returned his greeting with a smile.

It was then that i realised. This boy, didn't care about what people think. He was in his own little world of innocence, rules set only by himself and himself truly. It didnt matter that people laughed at him. He was just happy. It was all that mattered to him. What society feels about him didnt matter. Innocence is bliss. That saying never sounded more true than it had in my life.

Maybe sometimes we should just stop thinking about what people think of us, and start doing things as long as it makes us happy. Release ourselves from the chains of conformity and seek what you truly want.

Some of the times.

(we will never break free. will we?)

I stared into the mirror. I tried to smile. It was the saddest smile I had every seen.

"- - - " Her words rang through my head. It shook me. Too much. Why is it people just judge others simply by the way they talk, or in this case, how MUCH they talk? A guy who talks a lot, who is outspoken; - - - ? How bout a girl who talks a lot? Just being her?

Do you have a gf? Don't say yes just to deny the fact you are - - -. Those words really did stung me. I knew they were meant as jokes, but nevertheless... I was hurt.

Is this what society made guys to be like? Quiet, reserved as a sign of maturity? Strong silence as manhood? Is that what society is like? Biased?

I stared into the mirror. I saw a person, just another person, coming to terms with the harsh conformity of society.

I wept.

Fiction reveals truth that reality obscures.
in society, unspoken codes and norms dictate how we act, dictate how reality functions as a whole. The result: a bunch of needless facades and the truth in many things are hidden by the mask of facades that reality provides. Fiction, on the other hand, deals directly with truth through lies. It is able to do so without being encumbered by the many facades and pretense that reality holds.
Communism failed not because it was flawed. But people lost faith in it. The sense of selflessness. The goal of serving the people for the greater good

Capitalism flourished because it thrived not on selflessness, but on the selfishness of people.

Think about it.
The fact of life.
I was walking home from interchange after rehearsal today.

I saw
The vast sky
It holds freedom
The birds in the sky.
Carefree
Free.

I felt
Bounded.
To the ground
Restrained.
Limited.

I long.
to soar.
Release myself
in the unlimited sky beyond.

I continued to walk. I saw a parent with the child. It was the child that caught my attention. He was smiling; and innocent smile. In it radiated joy and laughter. I then checked my reflection. I saw a grim, stoic face. Conditioned by society. Molded by harsh reality. People dont smile anymore. At least not when they are alone. On an Mrt, you see people everywhere. They all share similar facial expressions. Emotionless. Cold. Unfeeling. Is this culture at work? Or is this society's ultimate goal? Automatons devoid of emotions, trained only to reveal their feeling when needed and on other occasions, reveal nothing but void blank faces? I wonder, how long would that smile on the child's face last?

Nothing gold can stay indeed.
